Resolution Issues

I've searched the forums for issues on resolution settings regarding the problem of going higher than 16:9 resolution. I found this http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?/topic/30015-ee-cinematics-black-screen-for-1610/ but it refers to TW2. I have the 1.5 patch and a clean install and I'm wondering if the game just doesnt support resolutions above 16:9?

Almost forgot to mention that what happens when I go higher than 16:9 resolution is that the cinematics do not play but I still see the subtitles and hear the sounds.

I always had distortions in the TW1-cutscenes, I finally settled for playing in window mode. That fixes it, at least.

Just tried that out and it still doesnt seem to work for me :c, I can still view cutscenes in 16:9 but nothing higher than that.

Ah yes, I meant 16:9 in window mode, sorry ^^
