Respeccing

And you have to find a rose first, so you have to do something to get rewarded with a respec. Maybe there is a ship in Novigrad that takes you to a small area of Shaerrawedd with an elfen ruin or there are some ruins containing roses in vellin, that you can find and loot for roses :D

Or maybe you can convince Ciri to take you there in a sight....

I like that muuuuuch better than a "skill trainer".
Fits into the lore seamlessly and it gives you another reason to explore the world.

I like the rose idea, but the ingredients for it should be very limited. 4-5 potions per playthrough, in my opinion.

Could be seamlessly weaved into the story of the game. A quest where Geralt can gather 5 petals only, the player being warned that it's the only time they can do it for whatever reason (bushes protected by ancient elven guardians?). Alternatively, there could be an option where you can defeat the guardians to gather how many petals you wish, but the fight would be extremely hard (similar to the operator fight in TW2).

I feel you, but did you mix up threads by any chance?
Posts addressing the 'do-not-want' towards auto-refilling would make more sense over here.

Aye, you are correct of course, but I merely reacted to the quotes of OP's link.

EDIT: On topic though, given that respec means rebuilding your character skill choices from scratch is...what, making alterations to previous choices? So like cheating then?;) :p No, don't get me wrong, it's nice for those who want it, but I like @EmperorZorn's idea of a rose of remembrance. It would create more immersion.

Either that or just bring back this guy:

Or don't, given that he was a pain to fight in that cramped space with those exploding gargoyles. Needless to say, when respec opportunity arrived in Witcher 2, I never hesitated to decline it. Even having missed to spend points getting more Vigor, and finishing the game with two Vigor points(not recommended) respec just doesn't interest me. But once again, it's great for those who do want it.

Well whatever you guys are talking about, I hope it's easy to use and fun to play. If it is some kind of swap in swap out sword ability system, based on skills we already learned, sounds cool to me. But then again I really have no idea what this topic is about, maybe I read it wrong.

I see the merit in your words. In reality Geralt is a swordsman and not a mage. He rarely used signs in combat, but in the game especially in witcher 2 the player could put all his focus in sign development. Since it's an RPG CDPR's hands are tied though, but the biggest mistake that they made was the first skill tree that you had to unlock before accessing the other 3 skill trees. Having to spend skill points to unlock blocking, arrow parry, and dagger throwing was really annoying. I would assume that the Geralt, one of the best swordsman of his era, would know how to block.

Well parry arrows is a advanced skill of geralt so is throwing daggers... those are special skills of geralt not your basic witcher 1×1 .... geralt knew all the basics from the start... though i have to agree it was kinda annoying to unlock yes.... but worth it... and rewarding

There is always something to nerf reskilling. It is either possbile only for few times mostly with help of ingame characters(Operator or however was the guy called) or it costs you and gets more expensive every time you use it(Kingdoms of Amalaur) or there is some disadvantage coming with it like loosing certain amount skillpoints every time you use it.

Or roses of remembrance are rare to find.
...which is pretty much the case~

Oh well. I bet we will get mod soon anyway.
You people don’t seem to understand that this requires far more effort than you think it does. Whereas with infinite, only-gotta-craft-’em-once potions ingredients can be rare, they have to be far more readily available with the kind that we know and love from TW1 and TW2. There won’t be any quickfix to change this abomination of a design choice.

However, I'm confident about Konrad's statement.:)
Confident? About what part?

Read my previous post. :D

About all of these new changes, I trust cdpr know what the hell they are doing, and why they are doing all this cool new stuff better than we do. I embrace it, and I am open to it without harsh judgment, because I have yet to play it in action myself.;)
