I was fully patched and so on before I started my first game - used the "Check for Updates" option.
I only have one DVD drive, so I can't do what you suggest.can you try with another DVD drive
Actually, I used the saved game I mentioned in my last post. This time, I solved Miku's quest after being told to do so by the Reverend, and everything worked perfectly.do try to restart at least the Chapter, if not the whole game, given that you've just began anyway
I read another thread on the subject - so this bug is actually a malfunctioning copy protection scheme. This is very disappointing.I loaded the TAGES drivers - but this didn't solve the issues when the disk is not recognized when switching scenes, and the game freezes. The DVD drive on my HP computer is displayed as a generic drive, so there is no way to figure out what to update (and I am not particularly confortable "flashing" any "firmware" on my PC).I don't know for how long I can live with the game freezing or the constant worry that yet another character may just disappear. Another good game ruined by bad copy protection.the game protection has the character locked in if something bad happens and it can not recognise the disk
that is the way is should function, and if your dvd drive has problems, that is another thingit's a known fact that older drives have problems reading newer pressed disksabout the freezing, read: Getting tech help on the forum and attach that PCWizard report here as instructedCameleopard said:I read another thread on the subject - so this bug is actually a malfunctioning copy protection scheme. The same thing exactly like in this post. I have paid for both the original game and the enchanced one too. It's very frustrating, the invisible Reverend. I have tried to run the game on 3 different dvd-drives. I have restarted that chapter. Still :wall: HELP!LancerChronics said:Ok so my other issue was solved after having to force restart my computer 7 times in a row, but I finally got into chapter 1. Did a whole bunch of quests, gained a whole bunch of money, etc. Finally had several quests pointing toward the reverend, but was having trouble finding him, until I noticed he was invisible. That's right invisible. As in, he follows his routine, and I can seen the blue text flowing above his head, but I can't see him, and therefore can't click on him. I try to walk through but i cant, so he is obvious there. Any fix ideas? (please oh please don't tell me to go back to a previous game, i've had enough grief already.) Maybe there is some sort of console command like "spawn 'Reverend_00". Thanks in advance.Oh and BIOS... PS: I saw other posts that were **similar** but not the same as mine with the reverend leaving the game, but mine is still technically present, which is why I made a new post
in what game? patched original? or Enhanced DVD install?Moustiq77 said:The same thing exactly like in this post. I have paid for both the original game and the enchanced one too. can you upload your save game somewhere?Moustiq77 said:P.S. I assume that me and LancerChronics had the option "Show object names" ticked, so we could see at least the name of the gramps. The other people must have had it offed, so they could see no sign of Reverend/Mikul at all. My Mikul was present btw.P.P.S. I dont see the point updating the Tages crapware since the game JUST got delivered, so it should install an actual version. Also my dvd drives do have the updated firmware, but I'm not gonna mess with downgrading them, cause it's just wrong and dangerous to mess with.
