Reviewer's copy. Who should be the lucky ones?

I'm speculating at some point before may 19th CD Projekt Red will give copies of TW3 to the press.
If this happens, who would you like to get a copy?

At the top of my list are TotalBiscuit and Angry Joe.
I'd like if gamermd83 also could get one.

Who would you like to get a copy?
(To propose yourself is cheating)

I think i might be getting one the day before, but it will be a tough one to download- 50 gigs on my connection (I'm doubtful i'll have it done within the week lol)

Well first myself :p

Just kidding, I'm not a regular reviewer. I will make a "first impression video" probably though (like TBs "WTF is...?") on my gaming channel and I will probably also review it after I played it completely.

I'D say TotalBiscuit would be the first I would recommend. He is not doing Reviews for RPGs, everyone knows that, but he rarely does Reviews anyway, he does First Impressions, and IMO those are damn good. He plays most of the time 15 - 20 hours into a game and then tell you what you can expect in terms of basic mechanics, controls, graphical options, PC-specific interface, atmosphere, story, gameplay (combat, etc) and side missions, he tells you HIS good and bad impressions and a recommendation of the game (buy it, don't buy it, might be worth getting on sale, etc). So TB should be on the list.

Angry Joe, yeah, he is a huge Witcher fan and that's why I would definitely recommend him for a review copy.

You might also want to give it to popular Let's Players like ChristopherOdd for example who played TW1 and TW2 and currently is replaying TW2 until the release of TW3 while at the same time catching up and reading all the books, so he might be a good candidate who knows his way around the Witcher games and probably starts his LP as soon as TW3 arrives in his hands. But that is just an idea....

You might also want to give one to Adam Sessler, I really like his Reviews a lot.

How long beforehand do people get review copies anyway? With such a mammoth game I imagine they need a lot of time to produce an extensive review before the release to public.

I once read that since TB is somehow affiliated with something that's sponsored by GOG (a StarCraft team or something? I dunno) he might stay away from TW3.

(I am stupidly excited that we're at a point where talking about review copies is kinda relevant)

Everyone CDPR wants to give one. Simple. ;)

One of the problems with reviews for Witcher 3 might again be that they probably willy only send review copies for the consoles out early. The console versions are very likely "ready" now (and in review process at MS and Sony) while the PC version is still optimized, probably until the very last day. So I fear that we won't see reviews of the PC version at release...

On a side note: I hate Total Biscuit. He's an arrogant wiseacre imho. Would be happy if he didn't get one... :p

They should start printing DVD at some time (may be month) before release.
I guess they could send special download keys for reviewers at the same time.
Keep in mind I just guessing the will distribute pre-release copies.

That's a bummer. I did know he was working with GOG. I just didn't make the connection:
"StarCraft team" <---> no TW3 review

Kevin Van Ord from Gamespot, he does good reviews in general, he played and loved both witcher games and is reading the books preparing for TW3. He's gonna get one anyway, its almost sure.

Other than that I don't really care much for specific reviewers, by far the most effective way to use reviews in a helpful way is by reading many of them and cross checking opinions, facts, writing tendencies, and other underlying aspects. You can pretty much judge a game very very accurately if you read enough reviews, I do it all the time, never been surprised yet by a game turning out in an unexpected way.

So whatever, the more people get review copies, the better.

Angry Joe and gamermd83 definitely. I'm not sure about TB, he's usually not into very long, story driven games, although I'd love to hear his opinion about the game (and many others, too, obviously).

Let's just address a few things.

Totalbiscuit can't and won't cover Witcher 3. He's Starcraft team Axiom is sponsored by GoG and therefore it's a conflict of interest (since GoG is a sister company to CD RED). Has himself stated, that he won't cover it. Moving on even if this weren't the case he would play the game far to long before expressing his opinions. CD RED don't have the time for this when they are busy polishing.

Angry Joe & Gamermd83 Are both heavily invested in the franchise, which is why their opinions are bad from an objective view. I love both of them and would definitely watch their review of the game, but prior to release I would want someone more objective and unfamiliar to the franchise to cover the game. Angry Joe and Gamermd83 would also never be finished with the game. Angry Joe makes a lot of props. to his videos and Gamermd83 spend 2 and half month to play Dragon Age Inquisition before she felt she was ready to make a review (because she loves the franshice).

This leaves a couple of interesting people.

Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw & Jim Sterling Neither of these two praised Witcher 2 as the best game ever, which is ideal to see if CD RED manage to do convince them otherwise with Witcher 3. Having someone who previously had some quarrels (not all, Jim sterling still liked Witcher 2) express their opinion is far more interesting knowledge for the consumer prior to purchase.

Angry Centaur Gaming Is arguable the best reviewer/entertainer as he's also covering things like Sound and graphic, step by step as well as value and actually states whether a game is worth buying or not, rather than throwing out scores.

Super Bunnyhop Also brings to mind as someone who could make a good coverage.

Overall I want someone less main stream to cover Witcher 3 prior to release, because that could be a more informative review which would tell people good and bad points with the game without being obsessed with the actual reviewers personality. I can always watch Angry Joe, Gamermd83, Totalbiscuit etc. whenever I just want some entertainment.

All written reviews are honestly complete tosh. A fraction actually are bothered to read the review... Everyone is far more focused on what "score" the game gets and argue how that particular "score" was wrong.

Probably Eurogamer because I tend to agree with them most about their reviews. I'm not into Youtube reviewers at all.
I'm curious about any kind of press/media.
And there are any particular writer you follow in Eurogamer?
Or you like the editorial line in general?
