Roche Commando Jacket vs Ultimate Swordsman Suit?

Question: I'm already planning on buying TW2 Collector's edition to support Projekt RED. However, I am also planning on buying the premium edition on Amazon based on one question! Is the Roche Commando Jacket better for a sword-fighter than the Ultimate Swordsman Suit? If it is I'll just open the Collector's edition. If it isn't, I don't mind giving more money to the developer!

First of all Roche Commando Jacket is armor add-on, secondly Ultimate Swordsman Suit is base on better combat so both of them work together perfectly, my opinion.

Buying any editions of the witcher 2 now through any retailers will give you all DLCs.
So there's no difference in content between a collectors edition or a premium edition on amazon.
Both will give you Roche Commando Jacket and Ultimate Swordsman Suit, as well as all other pre launch DLCs.

Personally, I deleted all preorder "item" DLC files. They make the game easier for no reason and are simply stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. There are some decent preorder DLCs (mysterious trader, finisher pack), but the item ones are stupid.

Did I mention that they are stupid?

The Ultimate Swordsman Suit is just the Blue Stripes jacket plus some extras (sword oils, whetstones, Mage's Trousers, Herbalist's Gloves). So it isn't really a one or the other choice.

See jelf's comment. Don't pay extra for any DLC at this point.

Umm, I think you confused things a little. If I am not leaving anything out, the original pre-order DLC's were Ultimate Swordsman Suit, Magician Suit, Alchemy Suit, Roche's Commando Jacket and Mysterious Merchant. Contrary to what common sense dictates, all these suits aren't really armor suits, so the Ultimate Swordsman Suit is, as you said, a bunch of oils and whetstones and whatnot. The Magician Suit includes the Mage's Trousers and the Alchemy Suit includes the Herbalist's Gloves, or something like that. The only real suit of armor is Roche's/Blue Stripes Commando Jacket.

But then again, this discussion is pointless now that CDPR made all pre-order DLC's available to everyone. So to witcherjae, buy whatever version you prefer as you will end up having ALL DLC's.

I imported my save files from TW1 and had Raven's Armor ( good stuff; +7 without enhancements & 3 slots ), as for Swords The steel swords were Mahakaman Rune Sihil 10-12 without enhancements ( 3 slots) and the Gwalhir 9-14 without enhancements ( 3 enhancements ). The Silver sword was the Aerondight. Not bad to start out with. :)

I really love playing with the vanilla items from release version. I wish I could just drop the DLC items but they keep coming back to the inventory until I reach Flotsam and can finally sell them! Even my import save items. They are shameful compared to the first game and it really makes me sad.

Raven Armor and my Aerondight ... they were end game keepers... real shame they turned into some lousy starting items. Which I could get them later in the game but they were still worthy and, particularly the armor, with the very same looks. Raven's in TW1 is one of the coolest armors of any game I've played and I've played a lot of them. It's already a pitty that we can use it for such a short time before TW1 ends. Having it disgraced and looking ordinary in TW2 does it no good either!

I actually just mentioned something about that in an armor related thread. I agree, how come Raven's armor lost so much power? It WAS a legendary armor, but common jackets in Chapter 1 already have better stats. Same with Aerondight, I feel like the Lady of the Lady just gave me a cheap imitation after all.

I think they should release a DLC for Chapter 3 where you unveil a secret of Loc Muinne and reforge/re-enchant Raven's armor and make it awesome again. This is a good reason to keep it through the whole game and another follow up to TW1.
