Yeah,Geralt broke so many hearts.Essi,Triss,Fringilla,Mozaik...Have I missed anyone?
I totally agree about Essi, but I can't agree on the others, especially Fringilla. I mean, who made the first step?

Triss is another story, he didn't deceive her.

Pls no spoiler on Season of Storms, I am a poor italian gal with no translation yet.

Hmm I'm confused didn't you say few pages ago:

I still think that Yenna is Geralt's true soulmate, but Triss is still a true love of his.

Geralt and Yenna are perfect for one another - Geralt isn't exactly easy to put up for Yen either, they have their bad moments and disagreements, but when they are together and not fighting they have the strongest relationship of any that he has.

Yenna is unpredictable and morally questionable, but most of the time with reason while Geralt tries to live by a code but it never seems to go as he wanted and always ends up getting involved to protect either the innocent or those he loves a la 'A matter of price' or the 'Killing Monsters trailer' Ignoring Vesemir and getting involved.
Which I suppose is inspired by the first fight Geralt had when he left Kaer Morhen after his training where he saved a woman who ended up vomitting and running away afterwards.

Yennefer is always planning, Geralt just gets swept along and makes stuff up on the fly.

Yennefer uses people and doesn't feel guilt, Geralt tries his best to get things done on his own and normally fails.

Yen kills without mercy when provoked, Geralt at least tries to talk his way out (Unless overcome by Witchers bloodlust).

etc, etc.

Geralt and Yen are made for one another, but their relationship is rocky, which makes it both stronger and weaker at the same time.

Geralt deserved it.He spend months with Fringilla while Yen was rotting in the dungeon. What a jerk.

Well... Not that he sent Yen in that dungeon by himself.

1. He didn't know.
2. He believed Yen betrayed him and Ciri.
3. No one knew about Yen Vilgefortz's whereabouts.

He may had been a jerk, witchering and chilling, but... Wait I said it before. :p

Geralt's first introduction in the LW : kills three drunken idiots just because they wouldn't let him stay in the tavern :D And zero guilt about it
So..I'd argue, let's say. Geralt tends to act very impulsively
Don't forget he did it for having the alderman attention. :p

They should've used hail instead of fireballs in this card.Such a missed opportunity.

They should have made Triss' element of choice Water\Ice (opposite of fire). While in the books it's never said that mages prefer any element afair, they basically turned Triss into a firemage, throwing fireballs, meteors. A hailstorm instead of a meteor storm would have been both a nice nod to merigolds hailstorm but I also think that Triss would stay away from fire magic after what happened at sodden. But I guess this was just an artistic choice because she is a redhead which obviously goes better with fire.

1.I know.But I still judge him
2.Which baffles me to this day.Why would he believe this?Geralt can be very stupid sometimes.

Don't forget also rumour had spread and Dijkstra was ok with it. Yes Geralt can be, but tha magical detection was the last straw... I can't judge that particular character's behaviour, but generally speaking his nerves were shot.

Agreed.I don't think fire suits her personality. But at least she uses ice spells in The Witcher Battle Arena.

Geralt and Yenna are perfect for one another -They are opposites that attract

It's a point of view, they share with each other or not. They Love or not. They are adults, so i don't want to explain why they love each other it's always a waste of time.

The two of us are made with flesh and Bloods, they are not perfect, none RS is perfect, that's why we always want to be better.

And "they are opposites that attract" means nothing in RS, it's a cliché.

I haven't read the books yet (although I got Blood of Elves and Time of Contempt), admittedly I haven't exactly been an avid book reader for the last couple of years(aside from work related literature), and fantasy isn't really my preferred genre, but TW got me interested in its world and characters far more than any other fantasy game I played, so I will definitely try to read the books at some point(hopefully in the near future when I acquire the rest of them).

That being said, I choose Triss, her character really resonated nicely with me in TW2 (I even liked her in TW1), and after doing some lore research I started liking her even more, she is a flawed character, and underneath that nice and sometimes naive looking exterior lies a complex character, prone to betrayal and ready to do some morally wrong and shady stuff to achieve her goals. But still idealistic by nature and in general a good person( by Witcher standards). So I was biased toward her before TW3, I knew that if the game gave me choice, no matter how Yen is presented, I will still choose Triss. Probably some of the book readers had similar bias toward Yennnefer. I do not regret that because I really liked Triss in TW3.

Yennefer on the other hand is also a fascinating character, if I was given a choice between her and any other romancable character I've ever seen in a game, Yen would have won by a mile. I like her wit, the way she interacts with Geralt and makes fun of some of his awkward habits, her determination to do everything it takes to find Ciri, I was all for using the mask, necromancy and the destruction of the garden, the way I play Geralt, given the choice I would have done the same. Her excitement when she first saw Ciri is still one of the most memorable moments in the game for me. I would also never deny that by the lore she is Geralt's one true love.

I don't think my preference will change when I read the books, I will definitely do a Yen playthrough sometime into the future (around second expansion), but Triss will most likely remain the right choice for my version of Geralt. If I had read the books before playing the games, or just before playing TW2, it is not unlikely I would prefer Yennefer instead.

Yenna is unpredictable and morally questionable,
Yennefer is always planning,
:D you can't be unpredictable and always planning! And why all think that Yennefer is unpredictable?! She is the most logical character in whole books. There is reason for all she is doing. How such person can be unpredictable... don't know who started this but he was wrong.
Yen kills without mercy when provoked
- while I agree but you need to try hard to provoke her. I mean so that she will actually kill you. Yarpen made her angry but all she done was just a few funny promises. In all books she killed a few people. So she isn't a coldhearted killer. And she can forgive... something many of people think she can't do :D

you can't be unpredictable and always planning!

Yes you can - She doesn't tell people her plans - She keeps them to herself and only tells people what they need to know!

For every character who isn't informed of the parts of her plans would say her methods are unpredictable.

-Willing to throw herself into a fight with a Golden Dragon to get Geralt to fight it.
-Almost destroys Rinde trying to capture the Djinn in the center of town.
-Bring Ciri into Garstang (Although that was hers and Tissaia's plan).

etc.

Big difference between a backchatting Dwarf and people who get in her way - I also mean't that she shows no remorse or regret.

Obviously she can forgive, its displayed every time she gets back together with Geralt, he's normally the one messing it up or annoying Yen to the point of her leaving him.
He's the one who ran away from Vengerberg and she forgave him for that.

No matter how nice Triss has been through two and a half games, no matter how many faults are ascribed to Yennefer, my Geralt has to go with Yennefer. It was Yennefer who tried to save Geralt's life at Rivia, Yennefer who was laid beside him at Avallach, Yennefer whom he followed the Wild Hunt to rescue and traded himself to free her, Yennefer whom he seeks out now that he knows she is free. Geralt doesn't have to be the least bit rational about this. Yennefer is part of his soul. He can't choose otherwise.

So, in other words, he's jolly well inextricably linked to Cunnifer. (Please excuse the rather poor quality of the pun.)
