Romance and Sex in The Witcher 3

Or if it falls under the "what I want to see in the game" category then it's more of a wish thread, and there's already one of those.

We're still looking for one that's fairly recent and didn't deteriorate by Page 10 into either the type of comment that gets it locked, or the other type of comment that gets it locked.

Anyway, as you say, there are new forum members all of the time, and some of them may wish to discuss it. There's no need for anyone else to if they don't want to.

I was reluctant to post this thread, but here it is...

Since there has been no discussion about this, only small random discussions in random threads, I decided to put this thread and discuss the following:

1) What do you expect the sex scenes to be like in the Witcher 3??
2) what kind of approach to sex do you expect from Geralt?? Will he still have sex with every girl he sees??
3) Any other suggestions.

My opinion:

1) Yesterday I finished reading the Witcher saga and I can tell you that the sex scenes are so deep, intimate and beautiful. And that you can always find a reason, for Geralt to do it, though it may not be so simple. Sex is part of everyone's life, and I think it is an opportunity to show more of the characters and their relationships. I expect Geralt's sex scenes to be more intimate, and more special. I want them to feel real, and to reflect Geralt's affection to whom he is having sex with. Just like Geralt's sex with Yennefer in the books. Or with Fringilla. Those are great examples. I expect each sex scene to be different and well crafted. To reflect the kind of affection between them, and maybe add some talking afterwards. And take your time crafting those sex scenes, take inspirations from the books, and keep the same amount of nudity as The Witcher 2. It was okay and I don't think any Mature player found it offensive(that would be stupid).

2) I think Geralt's approach should be more reasonable. If he is in love with Triss or Yennefer, he shouldn't go around having sex with other woman. At least not so frequently. Each sex Geralt makes should have a reason. If it makes sense, then I don't mind it. Like maybe he suddenly had so much chemistry with a woman.

3) Something very important is the repetitive cut scenes during sex in the Witcher 2. I completely understand it when it comes to whores, I don't mind always showing us one of three or four variations when having sex with them. But some sex scenes deserve to be just as special as the one with Triss. For example, the sex scene with Ves in the Witcher 2. Ves is a very different character from other girls and I was bothered when it was the same as any other sex scene. And Cynthia as well. Those are special characters which should have special cut scenes for them. Also sex scenes should not always be in the same place.

Sex is beautiful and an important part of every character's life and I don't think it should be ignored or avoided. I don't think there's any problem with discussing it neither. The game is for mature audiences. Please feel free to discuss and share your suggestions about the three points above. Do you agree with what I said??

I second one of your suggestions
- Repetitive cut scenes during sex in the Witcher 2 were not immersive enough. The length of cutscenes were too short for whores.
Coming to Keeping the same amount of nudity in TW3 as in TW2 is not possible I guess (As there would an entire district of Brothels )
- Romance should always be given top priority. If two characters are in madly in love they always hang around each other, always kissing and talking sweet things.
My suggestion is to add an option to kiss Player's romantice Interest in the game anytime when she is around.

The approach will be mature. There's no reason to change the W2 model.

Relationship system was actually better in TW1 imo

You actually had to choose between Triss and Shani and you could piss them off.

I honestly don't think sex is as well handled as it is purported to be in TW2.Instead of the cards we got animated scenes and there was no choice to make.

Well, it's coming back with the choice between Triss and Yen.
Sex was mostly realistic, without all the "sunshine and sparkles". That's what I value, at least. I don't know what you meant by "choice" regarding sex, though.

Oh boy... Even though I chose Triss in my 1st W1 playthrough, the save I imported to the W2 was the one where I chose Shani because I thought she would make an appearance in W2. I was so dissapointed when all I got was a freaking journal entry. -.-
Anyway I hope CDR can make Yennefer a likeable character otherwise I'll have no reason to choose her over Triss. And for God's sake people Geralt was there when Ciri was born, she is literally his adoptive daughter; who the hell has sex with his daughter?

While I agree with the general sentiment, Geralt wasn't there when she was born. He didn't even meet her until she was much older. As to your question, this guy:

Probably it would be better to suggest re-reading Lady of the Lake than answer that question directly. And to note that "sex with Ciri" is a bit more than a merely recreational objective.
