So like in real life when a gay dude is into you but you are hetero or the other way around? Or how about this one. You are into this one hot chick and try to get her on a date. She can't say no and goes with you only to tell you at a certain point that she is (gay) and you literally didn't see that one coming.

How is any of that a stereotype? That is literally how real life works. Not every hot women or hot guy you find attractive is of the same sexual preference as you are.
And you should thank your lucky star those options are even in the game. Cause CDPR has its home in Poland. And if you care to read up about how many rights gay ppl in poland have you might be surprised on what you find.

Making everyone Protagonist-sexual is lazy, and cheapens the characters. Should there be more options? Sure, but this isn't a dating sim.

Personally, I'm more than fine with characters having their own sexuality. In fact, I like that they cannot be romanced by everyone.

For the gay romance part, I think Kerry is a wonderful character. Like every other character I like that he is fleshed out and given an interesting backstory, motivations, flaws,... Stereo type or not - For me it's more important if these characters are authentic and 'alive'. As always though, it comes down to a personal point of view.

We have 4 romance option available as of today, if I'm correct. It will always be difficult, to fulfill everyones tastes. I agree, that there could've been more other romance options or maybe more indepth, as specific missions after you choose to be in a relationship with them, more conversation options, etc.

No... They needed at least two options for each "gender affiliation" so you could have some kind of choice. The characters are horribly stereotyped. They could easily have included Sophia (I think that's her name, I keep forgetting), Barry and/or the two cops who attend him. These could have been bisexual to simplify (so as to only need two) and they would have offered great alternatives.

Barry (despite the turtle... *groan*) or the male cop was far more appealing as a romance than Kerry for my first play through but River will do for my second. I couldn't put myself though the pain of the archetypes to bother with Kerry. We need options so we can roleplay. "Sophia" could have been a "more corpo than underground" alternative to Judy or Panam. Barry would have been "more sensitive but still butch" option than Kerry or River? River is also a cop, though... Hmm...

I think I would have preferred them all as "protagonist-sexual" as someone called it instead of what we got but I do appreciate the NPCs having history and ambition. I even want more of this with fewer wasted character opportunities, though.

Like the rest of the quests, there should have been interaction between the romances... "I won't like you if you were with so and so" or have "done such and such" would have been nice. Again, you need the choices for you to play a character in the world for the brief time you can live it.

Oh and I forgot to mention, I feel the selective nudity really pushes an agenda, especially coupled with the romance options. The whole thing wreaks of being aimed at "mostly minors" or "straight daddies" lusting after Judy and wanting to be a big as Johnny.

2 per gender is not enough, if you only want to romance women then you only have 1 option per gender...what if you dont like Judy or Panam?

Just look at Dragon Age for how to do it well.

This game was marketed as being able to live in Night City and have lots of choices....2 is not lots of choices

I dont understand and dont see honestly how are characters stereotyped. I mean I saw them normaly, imo they where written amasing. Of course there is room for improvment. Judy calls you to move in, and you cant even sleep at her place, you cant hang out, do gigs or whatever. But all in all its okay. I hope they will improve current characters

River is by far the most visually homosexual character in the game.

Then you're SOOL... seriously guys, what are we talking about here? The game is about 80% complete at best. Broken and incomplete systems all around, at least half of everything CDPR marketing promised at some point was dropped or reduced to the absolute basics, and people are still complaining about the lack of "romance options"? F*cking priorities... sheesh.

A couple of romances is pretty much all we got in terms of RPG or _roleplaying_ game. They are fundamentally vital to me and without them, I probably wouldn't be doing a second run through. Oh.. Other than for the music.

I understand but you kinda dont have time to meet 30 people and chose who do you wanna bang. You have limited time to try to save V, so i kinda understand lovers are not top of the list. However that being sad, it might have being better to make 50+ rommace options considering end game

My character is a chick with dick, so I can romance Judy and fuck her like a guy. No problem for me.

Ideally it would seem the best way to go about developing games in this modern world where everyone's fantasy lives or dies based on a myriad of non-traditional roles is to as much as possible and within reason provide people with the options to experience the game the way they choose from these different perspectives. Within reason being the key part.

For me personally this particular issue isn't one for me but I don't want to tell you what is an issue for you shouldn't be or isn't a valid issue etc. Some games create amazing characters that are remembered at large for generations while others create characters that are talked about for a few weeks. In this case, speaking purely from an idealized place of course, I think it would be better if romance options were handled more like Mass Effect games (if I remember right) where gamers are not rejected even in their supposed fantasies regardless of their real life preferences and persuasions.

I personally feel that so much harm was done to gaming when a crowd of people appeared out of nowhere and started demanding that gaming should resemble real life. What made gaming so great was that it was fantasy, you could be a total dork in real life but get the girl in the game. Now though, you can be the kick ass hero and still not be able to get the girl.

Somewhere we have taken a wrong turn. I can't speak for everyone but myself and the gamers I know for the most part play games as a means to escape reality and experience fantasy, not go from horrible reality to horrible reality.

Unbelievable. I guess some people can never be satisfied no matter how much you pander to them. The eternal complainer.

At the end of the day its just a game. It dosent really matter, what matters more is do you enjoy the game, or main/side story of the game

Yea, I get that, and I feel ya, but seeing as how this game barely even is a RPG... who cares, really? I don't even think it's meant to be played more then once, to be honest. Maybe the three intros and the endings from the final save, but why play anything else again beyond that? Not even multiple romances would up the replay value there... not for me, at least.

if the only reason you play a game a second time, is for the romances, then the game isn't worth playing a second time anyway.
