Rune crafting bug

Rune crafting bug

I have noticed when trying to craft runes from lesser runes the game only acknowledges lesser runes you have crafted yourself ones that were found/bought do not count towards the number available for crafting. For example I had two lesser chernobog runes and I tried to craft a normal chernobog rune but it said components missing and the lesser runes were listed as 1 out of 2. I went back to my inventory to double check I had two when I noticed the 2 lesser runes did not stack and the both had different weights one was 0.02 and the other 0.03 so they are different items. I then crafted another lesser chernobog rune and it stacked with the other crafted rune and I was able to make the normal rune using the two I had crafted. I have not tested this with other runes/glyphs yet but I have seen people on other sites claim it does also effect others the igni glyph for example.

Thank you :listen:

I'm getting this too. Somewhat annoying to have the runes available and not to be able to craft them. The effects are no different so why you would have to use only crafted runes I'm not sure. Moreover the items needed to craft the lesser variants are hard to come across and very expensive. Lets hope for a patch on this.

Yes, I just noticed this also. I have 10 stacked Lesser Glyphs of igni, but when try to craft a regular glyph of igni, it says I only have 1 of 2. I checked and double checked all possibilities, but found no answers. I've got about 110 hrs and this is first real bug I found. Well not counting the Mutagen, alchemy problem since patch 1.05.I hope they fix soon, really having a blast, awful, awful, awful good game

I'm having the same issue. Sorry I reposted the same problem. And yes it does affect IGNI runes. That's how I found this bug. I have 8 lesser Igni runes, and want to make 2 greaters. It would take way too much crafting materials and money to do this from scratch.

Getting the same issue, looks like the fix for +0% attack power on the lesser chernobog runes wasn't implemented very well. There's appears to be two versions of the runes stones, since they they don't stack and only the crafted one is accepted for crafting the normal version.
If there's simliar issues with the other runes perhaps CD Projekt Red should do a bug fixing overhaul of the whole rune crafting and effects applying system.

I have the same bug. Also the runestones crafted have a different stack then the found ones.

Okay this appears to effect a number of the runes, where looted runes are aren't being recognized by the crafting system to make the higher versions.

Anyone found out yet if Patch 1.05 (PS4) fixed that bug?

I don't think it did. That's the main bug keeping me from playing. But no, haven't tested it yet. No change log for 1.07 yet either.

Do any of the runes/glyphs go above a 5% buff? I know it's bugged and I can't craft stones either, but a 5% boost isn't all that significant. Unless there's some tier of Uber Mega Runestones that I haven't seen yet... at level 31.

5% is the max for Runes. 10% is the max for Glyphs. Adding three 5% runes of the same type gives you %15 chance. On top of what your weapon may already posses. But at this point stacking on top of a weapon with a native effect causes issues and doesn't combine the effects. That's the very reason why I won't play this again until it's fixed. I'm at the point that I have everything I need to mold my character the I want, but being unable to do so has ruined the experience for me.

Please explain further. because i did not had this issue.
In my case put 3x 5% sign intensity on mastercrafted griffin swords, resulting 35% sign intensity per sword (runes 15% + 20% native). I don't know if people already realised this but, sword effects only takes effect when you have your sword in hand. I could clearly see the difference in stats in pause menu with and without holding the blade. Same with mastercrafted cat swords, stacking bleeding effect on native bleeding effect worked too.

As for crafting, i reported the same issue too a while ago. Instead of waiting for a fix, i just sold every ghylp/rune and bought the greater ones i wanted.

Thank you for your reports :). We are aware of this issue. We are working on a fix which should make it to the next patch.

Very nice. Thank you very much. I really want to play this again. But will we be able to combine effects? For example 5% frost 5% burning, 5% stun? At the moment doing so causes issues. I added three 5% stun to a weapon that had 1% freeze already, and ended up with 100% chance to freeze and no stun.

I take my words back. Even though it works with griffin and cat swords. The bear and wolf swords does not stack at all. In fact even other runes doesn't work at all.
