Save crashes make my save disappear

I recently started to play the witcher 1 enhanced edition and I noticed there are a lot of bugs in this game even with the latest patch 1.5
When I was trying to save my game , my game crashed and when I restarted the game , my save was gone and I have to start from other save which is at least 10 hrs behind
Is there a way to recover my previous save ??

My spec:
Intel q6600 2.4 ghz
4ghz ddr2 ram
Ati radeon 4870 512ram
Asus p5q pro motherboard
Windows 7 professional
My game is the enhanced edition which patched to 1.5

Up front i would say no . Chances are that even if it had saved it would be glitched . Do you have auto save disabled if not try that sometimes that is the cause of some crashing . Just be sure to save either by manual save or F5 . Note that F5 is quicksave but it does not overwrite the previous save but instead creates an entirely new save . So it`s not uncommon to accumulate 10 - 12 GB or more worth of saves .

I have my auto save disable and I noticed that whenever the map turns to black. It will crash my game when I try to save.

Yours is not the first instance of that being reported but i don`t believe there was ever a sure fire cause to why it happens .
Is your system 32 bit or 64 bit .

32 bit with 4 GB of memory can utilize the 3 GB swith which will make windows use the 4 GB of memory VS 3.25 without it .

To utilize the switch try this
Open Command prompt as administrator and copy this and paste in the dialog box
bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVA 3072
Close everything and retry game .

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but it was the only one I could find on a similar topic (and didn't want to make a new thread for a simple question)...

Where are Witcher 1 saves stored in Windows 7? I found my save games from TW2 in "my documents" but i can't find TW1 saves anywhere. What few topics I have read on this are all old and either talk about XP or Vista, and I found nothing at those locations.

Either I am extremely stupid or driving 800 miles has made me really tired. I saw the "Witcher 2" folder and grabbed those saves and thought Witcher 1 was missing because I didn't think of "The" in front. Although, oddly, when I did a drive search for the keyword "witcher" the "The Witcher" folder didn't show up - guess I needed a wildcard in front, but was too tired to think of that too.

Thank you so very much and have a great day.
