Saves PS5 corrupted

+
EDIT: this info below is incorrect. The game is just broken and can't be saved at all.

It seems that this bug is only effecting autosave and quick saves. Manual saves seem to work though. You have to go into the start menu, select "save game." It's a longer process to save the game but It seems to work.

Lost about 6 hours of progress because of this bug. I've never dealt with so many bugs in a game. The DLC is awesome if it works correctly. Big ask I guess.

Think you are lucky in that case. For me, every save made after Dog Eats Dog gets damaged. Doesnt matter if its manual, quick or auto

I posted earlier detailing the same problem, but seeing their response, I just want to point out, this is not a "Phantom Liberty" problem, it's a 2.0 problem. It happened to me before installing the DLC (and of course persists now, so I can't progress into the DLC at all).

Add me to the list. ALL my save files, quick and auto, after the "Dog Eat Dog" mission are damaged/corrupted. This started with the mission "Hole in the Sky" which is the 2nd mission in the Phantom Liberty DLC. I'm using a pre-existing save and have never had a damage/corrupted save file prior to downloading the DLC. PS5.

I actually didn't get lucky. Played a few more hour doing all the gigs I had already done and the game crashed. Even my manual saves are damaged now. The game is unplayable. I don't even want to play it anymore and just want a refund at this point.

Hello. I was talking to a player that told me he fixed it. He had to clear his inventory space from trash items that he had before 2.0 update (healing items etc.). CDPR changed how healing and granades work now so you dont need them in inventory. Can you guys see if that helps and report if save works ?

I've cleaned out the backpack and stash almost 90% of what was there. It didn't help. As for medkits and grenades, there's no quantity of them in the inventory anymore; all the extras disappeared on their own.
ok. what about when you start new character. is save still broken then ?

This happened to me as well. DLC and game in general is downright unplayable at the moment with no exaggeration at all.

And it poses great danger of losing hundreds of hours of base game progress by corrupting old save files... how the hell did this happen...???

I mean how can a bug like this avoid QA tests? I really hope the fix comes soon and that when it does, it fixes the corrupted saves because i dont like wasting time... and I have already wasted a lot of time in this DLC having to replay it from the start for 3 times now in hopes that the bug wont show up eventually... only for it to happen every single time.

Why isnt this reported from the media? Only small websites are reporting it...

And no, asking me to start the DLC with a default character instead of my own V that I have invested close to 300 hours in, is just not a solution.

They know about this problem and looking to fix. We had the same problem with saves on PC before. It all comes down to inventory space creating save files size being too big. At least thats what it was on pc

Literally: I agree with EVERY word here.

I just don't understand how such a serious issue (complete unplayability + risk of losing all previous progress) could have passed quality control? And I also sincerely don't understand why this is not being reported in the media? Why isn't there some big statement from CDPR on this? Players don't even know they might lose all their progress by overwriting the save file. And some message from the developers will only be seen by players when they already encounter the problem and come here to find a solution.

I have no desire to start the game from 0, reach the point where I can start the DLC, go through its initial missions, just to find out if saves will keep crashing afterward.

This bug is CRITICAL, **** IT! Critical damage to the DLC experience. A critical disappointment. So much for pre-ordering when I can't even enjoy the game for several days now.

Shame.

Whait this...
If the solution is as simple as "increasing the save file size" and they have encountered this before (as I understand it happened to people on PC during the launch period), why, oh why, haven't they increased the save file size on PS in 3 years?

I have 3 characters, about 600 hours between them and I've got almost everything on each of them, full wardrobe, 530+ "other" shards, picked every piece of trash, opened every container etc, of course the file is gonna get bigger. Why not increasing it at its possible max (whatever is the allowable "ridiculous" amount for a PS save file) right away, people like playing your game, you know.

I really hope this isn't the solution. The game allows you to pick up so much stuff.

I think we their unpaid beta testers. I love the game but it sucks such a trash company made it.

Please could you tell me if corrupted saves will be repair at least ? I would like to know soon as possible because if it's the case i lost 290+ hours ( all my saves are damaged... and i won't start again i'm done...) and then i can ask quickly as possible a refund to sony. Thanks

I'm so sorry for you, man. I'm really am.
I can imagine well how you feel. But unfortunately, CDPR themselves say that saves corrupted before patch 2.01 will not be fixed by the patch. The patch will simply prevent further save corruption. Here’s a quote from their message about patch 2.01:

‘Addressed the issue of corrupted saves on PlayStation by increasing the maximum save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix the saves corrupted before the update. If you’re experiencing the issue, keep a working save (e.g. resave it as manual save) till 2.01 arrives.’

I’m in incredible negativity due to cognitive dissonance. How is this even possible?!

I'm having the same problem done over a 100+ hours now I can't load any of my safe files iv had enough they better fix it or I wanna refund
