SAVING GAMES - not working the way it should (various issues)
Apart from the excessive time it takes to open a load menu or delete a savegame, I found a very particular and peculiar trait of saving games in witcher 2 - and it's most probably universal, i.e., not just a problem of my system, my installation etc.
Simply put - saving doesn't work the way it usually does (storing 100% the state of the PC, all NPCs and the gameworld) but more like a checkpoint (only saves general progress).
The most evident example? Spawing!
I am sure most of you witnessed this, it seems the game messes with or restarts certain spawining scripts and does so inconsistently (the widely reported Nekker issue in act 2). Another specific example that happened to me is a saving a game in a calm situation in the Act 1 forest and being swarmed by Endregas and/or Scoiatel after loading.
Another situation where it really struck me would be best illustrated by a video but still - act 2, Iorveth's path, sneaking in Kaedweni camp - I stunned a guard looking at the arena from across the row of tents (quite close to the Northern gate you need to pass). I saved, I got killed and after loading, there was another guard on top of the lying body! Also, the script when Zywik and a group soldiers come from the northern gate starts immediately (where it wouldn't start if I was on the same spot and didn't load).
Less evident example of this is the yrden sign (not saved as far as I can tell). It's hard to tell if the saving overlooks or restarts any other scripts... I think this needs serious fixing. Your experience?
