Saving your game: F5 isn't a manual save. Why?

How does this even make sense? Can someone explain why I would always want to autosave over something I press manually to save? Why do I always have to go the menu to have a real "save:?

I don't see how this system benefits anyone.

Have you not played many PC games. Quicksave almost always works as a temporary save that is overwritten when pressed again. If you want to save a hard save, then do it manually from the menu. I don't see the problem. It takes just a few seconds. If quicksave made a new hard save every time, I would have had so many saves. They had it like this in Witcher 1 and it was a pain. The save game folder became so bloated with saves it was ridiculous.
