Screen tear issue

+
Hi I am having an issue with frame generation on Cyberpunk. Whenever it is turned on there is a visual glitch at the bottom of the screen when the camera is panning. It looks a bit like a screen tear but I'm not sure that it is as I have all the correct settings to have zero tearing and I never have it in any other game. I have vsync and gsync on, fps set to just below 144fps to 141fps and reflex is on. I am unsure if this is some artifact that everyone gets with frame gen in this game or if there is something I can do about this. I have a RTX 4090, when I first played it on this PC a few years ago I do not remember it doing this with frame gen enabled. I have attached a video of the issue, thank you for any help!

Is Motion Blur enabled in your settings?

I get it occasionally on PS5 performance mode when moving camera horizontally,it will tear at the top about an inch down from screen border.

I have that turned off, whats the best setting for that? I don't really like using motion blur

I just asked because motion blur can give a similar impression but if it’s turned off it’s good.

Also, you could try a lower framerate, especially if RT is turned on.

I don't see anything in the video example that would bother me, but you can reach out to tech support here and ask them directly:

Thank you for replying, really means a lot. I don't use any sort of ray tracing, not worth the performance drop off. What's funny is that I have just tested things and if I put DLSS on Ultra Performance the weird tearing thing at the bottom of the screen goes away even when frame gen is on. It doesn't really make sense to me because there is no tearing on any DLSS option when frame gen is turned off. For now I think I'll just play Ultra Performance with frame gen on, its frustrating knowing my PC can handle much higher DLSS options but I'd rather have a slight dip in visual clarity than have to put up with that annoying tear thing, its so distracting haha.

It‘s possible that it may vary with different gpu driver versions (most new gpu driver versions I tried have been a nightmare for my 3060ti, so I decided to stay with last stable one for as long as possible ).

Also you could experiment with turning gsync or vsync off. Lowering the resolution might also improve things.

But yeah, performance mode can ease things. And Cyberpunk can be quite demanding, even for a 4090. Of course it also depends on the CPU.

Still, I prefer to keep games as easy as possible for my 10700 cpu, so I am the wrong person to talk about optimal performance.
