Can't help but share Jupiter's misgivings. At this point I'm starting to lower my expectations of the visual department - both the graphics and animations. Not that they're bad, or that they're not on the level of other big games. The game looks very good. But I didn't have that "holy shit, really? did, did you see that too?!" feeling since some of the shots of the VGX trailer. Sure, some of said shots were pretty bad, but others were stunning in a way I haven't seen repeated yet from the materials released.
Edit: And just to clarify, this isn't a "I'm not interested in the game anymore" post, or "lost my hype". Just mitigating my expectations a bit.
Is there any reason other than wishful thinking to believe they would release screenshots from a significantly older built at this point in time, a mere 5 months ahead of release? What would compel them to do it? And, to compound the problem, why would they release screenshots from an unfinished location when, surely, there's already loads of wrapped locations to showcase?
On the surface, it doesn't make sense. But perhaps there's an obscure reason that will eventually come to light. Thing is I heard the exact same claims before Skyrim came out from fellow forumers. They were wrong.
If these prove to be from an outdated built and/or unfinished location, great. At this point, I just can't fathom why they'd do it less than a week after they released two stunning renders.
These are the questions I am asking myself too. I mean, sometimes it feels like CDPR have a tactic in place that says "don't show too much of awesomeness, let people doubt and then blow their minds when they play the game and say A-HA!". That or they are panicking too much over spoiling stuff, which is also weird, considering how huge the world is going to be. But every material released - apart from the 35 min gameplay video, of course - feels like they don't want to show too much. I bet there are so many picturesque locations, awesome side characters, weapons, armors etc that they really have a lot to choose from. I admit that so far their choices are not always the right ones for me.

Anyway, who cares. Visuals are really not the most important thing in video games, guys.
Or they just realized that the game won't run properly on most systems with the visuals of earlier screens and trailers and so now they show shots with "real" ingame material early on to avoid the downgrade whining at release...

Devs use old builds all the time because they are typically more stable and well rounded than the latest iteration. The 35 minute E3 demo was an old build and so was the Griffin fight because they were stable and would not crash or bug out on stage.Srsly ? maybe stop bullshiting yourself and face the truth, its what we get .No developer ever releases Old build or console screenshots. They always release their best materiel .People stop finding excuses please .
