Screenshot & Artwork collection - Part II

Screenshots are all taking from some build of the game. If a new build isn't ready to be shown on a demo then it probably isn't ready to be used as screenshot material either. A newer build could have all sorts of graphical issues that are still going to be seen in a screenshot. Jaggies, Clipping issues, texture bugs and decal bugs, shadows and reflections issues, etc. All sorts of things can have little issues that may not be present in an older build or might not be as bad. Some issues may only be in a certain area of the game so they use an older build or a newer one for shots of those. Nobody can tell what build it's from so it could be the most recent or months old. Seeing as screenshots have all had quality differences (Including these new ones) I'm going to assume it's not a recent build. It's all speculation and we'll just have to see the finished product. I trust CDprojekt to deliver a well rounded game visually.

The game will look a lot better than this at release, its simply common sense.

However, its impossible not to wonder why would they release screenshots that arent particularly cherry-picked as others were, why not hide some of the unfinished imperfections from those screens if you can do it and everybody does it to make their games seem better? Its intriguing.

I think since a ton of people started asking for uncut gameplay footage CDPR took a different approach to releasing videos and screens, they seem more "honest" and straightforward than before, the 35 min demo was totally unnecessary in my opinion and it makes the combat look bad because of easiness, the quests simple and rushed, and other things. And these screens, regardless of what build they are from, could look way better if they had just repositioned the camera or took them at another in game day time.

To me they really need to go back to "decieving" us a little bit again, as in, show the game only when its looking at its best, even if its not always like that when playing.

After going almost 10 pages back to find the screens and then reading all those pages of comments, I just wanna say: guys, really? CDPR finally released some new screenshots that couldn't be seen in any demo or trailer so far of which there is but a few. Also, they are all good looking to me, especially the one with the mountain. And now everybody just starts boasting about graphical downgrades, CDPR not delivering what they promised or not being able to deliver or that it won't run properly and so now they are showing the "real" in game footage . How about some thankfulness instead? Where are the times when we were eager to get whatever material, not depending on the quality? We always only pleaded and they would say no,wait till it is better. Well, now that they actually released something that is evidently not finished, thus doing so most probably against their own will, only to answer our pleads, all they get is this? Several pages of talk about how bad the game looks, how they won't deliver and how the visuals were downgraded? For only giving us what we wanted? Have the people forgoten what they wanted? I am starting to wonder what has gone wrong with the forums. There has been a lot of negativity lately which makes me sad. In the end I just wanna say, THANK YOU CDPR a lot for the new screens and keep up the good work you have been doing for the past several years :)

Yeah but it looks great because you know what you must take into consideration to judge them, you know the context, such as the fact that that was played in easy mode.

Thats what I'm saying, why show it in easy mode, what benefit does it give the game's image? instead of say, a 2 minute combat trailer in hard or something like that which would definitely be more impressive.

We know how to judge the game, we trust CDPR and all, but that doesnt mean we should need those things for the game to look great, just like we shouldnt need to know and understand that those screens dont look as good as others because how the light was at that precise moment or what angle was used.

The point is, CDPR has the power to destroy our minds with incredible footage that holds no doubt, why they used that before, and now not at all, thus breaking the hype-increase-curve, is what I find strange.

Screenshot with Griffin and Geralt in new armor mirrored. Also cant understand how his swords holds on his back -is there one more belt i dont see from the back that goes to torso ? Also guys, we dont know if this is that Bears armor. Even that concepts can change during the game development. For me that armor looks just fine. And its has both protection from attacks and cold. And as i can note its just torso armor, because the gloves and trousers are still from the Wolf set.

Sorry bro, I still have no idea what you are talking about;)
I already know... that all the screen shots and blurry online videos can't even hold a flame to what this will be like @ home on my 60 inch HDTV this FEB.
CDPR Team have to just laugh @ some of our posts, and be like "Ha.. They have no idea what's in store HaHa.." Don't even trip bro!!

Because they aren't showcasing the game's difficulty and they have a limited time to get through a plethora of features.Personally I wouldn't want a 30 min gamplay demo to have 15 min of the dev struggling to kill a pack of mobs.I want to see as much as I possibly can and I'm sure they want that as well.

And thats when we get to if it actually is necessary to show a "plethora of features" all in one video, and all in short time and washed out form. I didn't even wanted a 30 min uncut video because I knew they'd have to do things like this, like rushing through it and making it look less cool than what it could look.

I'd take quality rather than quantity.

^Exactly, because if your game doesn't start with a "D" and end with "Souls" you don't need your fanbase to see you die to believe your game is "cool".

The 35 mins video was the one they had been showing for months to closed press. Why wouldn't they show it to their fans once convention season ended?

On balance, and knowing that build was likely close to a year from the final release, I was extremely happy with it, and really don;t need anything more before release.

If you think that making a gameplay demo that wastes both our time and theirs is "quality" then I will have to disagree with you.

Not sure how a better prepared and more concentrated combat showing would waste our times, but maybe you are confused.

To avoid that, for example, I would've wanted combat to be showed at normal or hard difficulty and in selected short scenes of footage all in a short trailer, maybe 2 mins.

An long uncut demo is just so limiting in terms of allowing you to filter the mundane or unremarkable looking things, from the stunning ones.

But anyway the demo was not the subject here, just the screens, so enough with it.
