Lets not jump to conclusions. This is pretty big deal so they can't just ignore it, they have to clarify things. Hopefully we'll get some explanation tomorrow.
There is no way they would just change the reward trees after announcing they wouldn't. Is that even legal?

I like your optimism :howdy:

Nevertheless, their proactive communication is incredible bad. Probably they announce something reactively, and without any doubt you can find reasons for all kind of crap. Only believable would be "guys we had to move all experienced staff to 2077 and only threshold workers are left in communication department". Probably a bit mean, but that`s how their style currently feels.

Explanation from Burza (reddit today):

Hi, we never stated that the seasonal trees will be staying the same for each year. We want to add fresh content yearly for players, that's why the idea of new trees came up and was implemented.

Then the proof that they stated that the Seasonal Trees will be staying the same:

Slama from reddit (1 year ago):
Seasonal trees are designed to cycle yearly

Like I mentioned, that was a year ago and our plans changed in this case, because we wanted to provide you with fresh content. Sorry about the miscommunication.

I would just like to clarify... I’m still so sick of nilfgaard stealing, locking and poisoning my entire deck... a neutral card with purify (cooldown 2) just isn’t enough. Nilfgaard seriously need nerfing, everyone plays them (especially pay to win accounts) and it just makes the game boring coming across the same three / two tactics in every 4 out of 5 games... it doesn’t matter how many purification cards there are you’d have to fill half your deck with them to compete and that also just saps the fun out of building interesting decks.

I'm very dissapointed...I feel robbed, because I lost all those seasonal borders/avatars. And some interesting data:
to fully complete all the seasonal trees I needed 653 RP (from the Season of the Bear to Season of the Cat - I completed Mahakam, Wild Hunt, Wolf and Love) - And I had the RP, but I wanted to do it this year. What I "lost":
21450 Ore
4840 Scraps
2520 MP (of course this number is before this patch)
28 Kegs
and all the avatars and borders that I wanted to do in this year...because they said I CAN DO THAT!

(Yes, I make some statistics...I have the pictures of the "not completed" Seasonal Trees too)

Like I said nothing stoped them from implimenting new seasonal trees with saving old ones except for.... greed maybe? If I see rewards for old season trees in shop I'll know I'm right.

It was told, that we can finish those Reward Trees in the next year. Our progress is saved and so. I did not finished all of the trees because of that. And now we have a brand new Reward Tree and my progress and the opportunity to finish those trees are gone. How can I trust CDPR if such things happen? I really love this game, never stopped playing (not even in the worst of times), spend money and now I feel cheated. CDPR did not keep his word and so I lost the opportunity to claim the borders from those trees. I'm very dissapointed now...

Same, i skipped some season trees in order to save keys for next season because i did not have enough at the time thinking am gona finish them next year when they come back. This and the force mill makes this patch a big disappointment for me.

CD PROJEKT RED was a small and promising company, till it gets famous and... Greedy!

Normal, who wouldn't expect that?

The player base means little to nothing... the little means our wallets.

Those recent chances just fortified the decision to stop playing the game and wait for the Thronebreaker 2 and Witcher 4!

I am extremely dissapointed with the Gwent team going back on their promise of multi-year trees. It was clealy stated that the trees will carry over to the next years, a lot of players relied on those statements.

And now a year later changing it without any communication or notice is just wrong. Are you going to be refunding the reward points people invested in the trees under the belief these are multi-year trees and they can just finish the progress they started next year?
Or is that just a waste of a full year of Gwent progress for a lot of players?

I am starting to regret investing so much time and money in this game. Seems the best part from Gwent was Thronebreaker.

It would be nice to get at least RP refund for trees that we started but not finished.

Well, seasonal trees... I unlocked each single one of them, but I was looking forward to seeing the old ones. Just because I wanted to unlock also other non-seasonal trees and there's just no way for me to do that now because I need extra 80 RP (at least there's just one tree per season) for each season to unlock a new tree. I can barely earn 150 RP per season (5 RP per day). I've already finished most of the contracts and true, I'm receiving RPs also from the daily quests, but it's still not enough to unlock all trees I want.

But I totally understand the frustration of many other players, who did not unlock the season trees. Let's hope, CDPR will hear the feedback and they will bring it back somehow. Btw. these packages for real money always contain some extra stuff, right? So there's still some added value. Or they can just generate a new content for selling and that's it. Don't need to be greedy.

Are you on console? If so, support for it has ended and you are playing on an old patch so will not get the new content.

I usually try to be optimistic with Gwent but I have to admit that I'm drifting away. Less and less communication, the balance patches haven't fixed the main issues since midwinter, and instead we get more and more cosmetic sales. I, like many, did not complete all the reward trees, doing the card back one and keeping the border for the second year. Luckily, I don't really care about the borders but that is still frustrating, especially all the reward points attributed to unfinished trees. At some point, reward points and meteorite powder are the only resources that matter, ore and scraps being stocked uselessly. So lost reward points on non accessible trees and hindered use of meteorite powder because of the auto-mill of saved duplicates... I don't even need to open the kegs anymore then...

However, what's funny is that despite ALL that has happened since closed beta, this seasonal mode may be the closest we had from witcher 3 gwent since XD 10 cards, 3 rounds. That actually allows really fast games although of course there is, as always, advantaged factions

I know there are multiple threads about this but I couldn’t find one to hand. I have just played seasonal battles and played against AI bots. I know it was AI through multiple signs but one irrevocable one.
I won’t list all the telltale signs in detail as they’ve been mentioned in other threads, opponent card cursor hovering, opponent name, the way they play and card choice etc.
The irrevocable one was this: I recently came back to Gwent after playing in the beta years ago, had 27000+ scraps plus half built decks. I started playing again say 4 weeks ago max. Basically my decks were pants. Very basic. I wasn’t familiar with syndicate or harmony decks at all. I was basically a newb. So, to get to the point. what do you do to test out your deck? You got and battle the monster training deck. I have played at least 60+ games testing synergy and such. After so many games you see how the AI plays. Example. If you play a strong hand against the tutorial, it always passes no matter how many cards it has left. Say you have 35 and it has 12 it will pass even on round 3. I found this annoying during testing as doesn’t let you try out big finishers. Another annoyance is on round 2, sometimes If I passed setting up for round 3 and baited the AI to use cards to beat my score, it would sometimes play EVERY SINGLE CARD. Leaving me with 7 + cards and AI with none.

THIS JUST HAPPENED PLAYING SEASONAL!!!

I passed after playing 3 cards and the opponent playing as NR played scenario card. 1 trebuche out. I passed saving my Nilfgaard scenario for next round. What happened?! The opponent played every single card bar the last card!!! IN A ROW!!! I had 6 or 7. Then passed eventually with 1 card. Come to the last round, the AI just passed.

I know some of you will say it’s not AI, that’s fine. I don’t mind it being AI. More opponents for me to play less waiting time for a match. I am certain that it was a computer, no 100% certain. I know the AI bot training inside out. After reading a lot of comments made by other users such as getting certain decks they get match made against, losing streaks, questionable algorithms etc. It is interesting to see their responses if they read this.

Admin if this comment needs moving to a more relevant thread please do so. For those who wish to test this theory on tutorial deck out go do it. You will see how it plays. Go in with a big powerful deck. See if and when the AI deck passes. Play enough games and you will see it play multiple cards after you pass. I just wish I had the means to record my games but I’m on an iPad so cannot.

This seasonal mode is shit: going on blue coin means basically you'll go on next round one card down. You loose.
