Series X Pixelated Visual Artifacting FSR 2.1 | DRS

Nothing sadly. I stopped playing the game months ago because if this. Unbelievable really that a dev can go back and retroactively make the game basically unplayable for some people due to the intrusive nature of this issue and because we are stuck on consoles there is nothing we can do. The only way I can ever see it improving is if they add the new version of FSR but even then who knows.
Yeah. And worst part is they basically sweeped this under the rug. What a disappointment

Meanwhile, CDPR has announced that FSR 3 (+frame generation) will still be included in the game, but that cannot be said for sure yet.
Did they?
I could be wrong, but the only official "announcement" I can remember (from a Red, from Pawel Sasko actually), it's something like > "we can't provide any info about FSR3 yet" or "we don't have any detail to share yet".

They did, about a week ago, in an interview with IGN... sort of.

"We are still working on the FSR3 support for Cyberpunk 2077, but I do not have an update on its availability just yet,"

But it's convoluted whether it's coming through whatever patch may be coming in the next few weeks/months and whether they'll keep trying to make it happen if it doesn't make it into that patch.

Yes, I saw this article... I might missed it, but I don't see any source for this quote.
"the developer confirmed FSR3"
Who is this developer? When he said it? To whom he said it?
I'm picky I guess, but still... I hope FSR3 will be added, ideally in the next and last patch, but this 'info" don't seem very reliable (to me at least).

Well, it's right there in the article. A spokesperson speaking for the developer (CDPR as an entity, not a specific developer within CDPR). Someone authorized by CDPR to make these kind of public statements to specific people or outlets. In this case, IGN.

It's CDPR's official stance. If it wasn't and IGN is making this shit up, I assume CDPR would have made a statement refuting what IGN wrote by now.

Ok, well I assumed (wrongly) when there is no "source" clearly noticed, it sound like a "click-bait" articles :)
It wouldn't be the first time that to make an "appealing" article, an editor use a quote from year(s) ago or out of context... So I'm a little suspicious (to much^^).

I get it, I don't place much value in gaming "journalism" these days. Or just journalism period to be honest. It's not what it used to be. It's all about generating traffic these days and less about getting the facts and truth out there.

With that said, this kind of statement from a huge outlet like IGN tends to be true. It's still a bit click bait-y in my opinion but I don't doubt that a spokesperson for CDPR said that quote. If it wasn't, it would be a pretty terrible move from IGN and I doubt CDPR would let it slide without saying a thing.

To the root of this issue:

No announcement was made. CDPR will make official announcements through it's own channels when it has something to announce. Every other piece of information is speculation.

The reality of the situation is what was said to IGN, word for word, not what IGN said around that:

The rest of the article is simply IGN spinning the meaning of that to give it the flavors and connotations they want to give it. Nothing in that statement is an assurance of how long it will take, what it will entail, or whether it will ever be released. My guess is that we'll eventually see it, but there's no official word on that yet. There is no announcement or confirmation of anything.

And no, CDPR is not likely to police the internet looking for various sources conveying misinformation. People are free to say what they wish. The only thing to keep in mind, if readers wish to avoid confusion, is the following:

When there is something to officially announce, it will come directly from CDPR -- not through secondary sources.

I think this issue is going to remain for the rest of this Gen there are currently no developers working on Cyberpunk 2077 they have moved on to the next witcher game and Cyberpunk sequel it's sad that it won't be fixed on the series consoles.

Anyone got any updates on this?
No, there was something going on on the steam DB a few days ago. So it's seem that an update is on its way. The last official information is still that they will include it when it's ready. Als Long as no one says the opposite I'm sure it will find its way I to the game.

I cant believe this is still an issue, advice for anyone reading, don't try drs with steam deck, nightmarish visuals abound.

btw this glitch happens with XeSS too, which looks better than FSR on PC, but only when used with DRS. so its not just FSR, its like the DRS is a bit slow in changing resolution and the game basically breaks down trying to catch up, but that's all speculation on my part.

I tried on my desktop to see if the issue exists with DLSS but i didnt notice anything but I'm also playing on a large tv and not a monitor where the issue will be exacerbated, so hopefully people can look into that.

so hopefully they fix it as DRS with upscalers is the major way most devs get extra performance from machines nowadays.

The error is more noticeable on a television because TVs have a sharpness setting. The screen creates an optical glow around edges to make them stand out better. Most people use a higher value when playing games because the picture initially appears more detailed. However, this promotes/intensifies the negative optical effect in the game that has occurred since the introduction of FSR.

It's just the nature of DLSS and FSR. I mean, you can't downscale the graphics and not see any difference. On a monitor, however, it's normally possible to get the setting adjusted so that it's not too bad. On a TV that's doing its own sharpness, yeah, there's probably no way to make it less noticeable.

Today there was more movement regarding the upcoming update to CYBERPUNK 2077. This time from the installation "cdpr_amd_dev". Normally the movement comes from other installations. The devs usually use "dev5" and the testers "qa". It seems as if the "amd" installation is actually for AMD. Perhaps there are problems with the integration and AMD should help or perhaps they want to test at AMD? Perhaps something is finally happening with the FSR 3.0 topic.

I don't think we're ever getting it at this point! Especially on console. Looks like the fame will stay like this forever

Never say never ;)
"AMD depot" on steam has received a recent update so however they seem to work on "something" related to AMD which I guess could likely be FSR (3.0). So I assume it's not only on PC, so it's possible that the game will also receive an update on console which will fix the issue.
We will see.
