You know, these 150mill are all adults and most of them will buy the game anyways, regardless if it has porn or not.
Well, if it would have porn, you would have to subtract everyone from the 150mill who doesn't own (or can't buy) a pc that can run the game, since it wouldn't come out on consoles.
So, it would be less then 150mill.

And I was so close to a home run, because I didn't thought of the vast majority of elderly people, a lot of middle aged people, some young adults (since most gamers are young adults), and all the people who might not even be interested in the cyberpunk genre...

This contains mostly canon-cyberpunk stuff (but I do insert a bunch of my own head-canon for the way I will treat my playthrough) I intend to create a "Futa" character in the character creator. This is just a female character with some special upgrades that make her personal life more fun, regardless of what kind of partner she chooses to be with. "Futa" is a Japanese thing If I'm not mistaken, and I think the Japanese people are very classy and sophisticated for coming up with that, so credit where credit is due, Very cool Japan. *High Five*. That being said, My CyberFuta is going to be some kind of Cyber-Healthy person who eats a futuristic strict hydroponic plant/lab grown cyanobacteria based diet in order to, by her own philosophical values and principles "Put less death back into the world, and keep her body clean.", This will be starkly contradicted and contrasted by the fact that she will be a highly modified, stealthy and unstoppable, netrunning hacker-ninja time-traveling killing machine. A dark hero in an even darker world with an even darker future than the year of 2077 that she jumped back into... She will stop at nothing to set the broken time line back on its tracks and permanently alter the course of history to save the world from itself. Unbeknownst to humanity, something has gone wrong and their genetic structure is set to crumble to pieces and spell the end for humanity, exactly ///CORRUPTED DATA/// years after 2077. Nobody knew the cause of the damage, but geneticists from the future have upgraded our hero into a CyberFuta, equipped with the ability to contribute a repaired and strengthened set of genetic codes back into the genepool of humanity's past in order to prevent just one part of the multi-layered catastrophy that wiped out all life on earth. Our hero will literally have to Bon Chica Wa wa, Netrun, hack, shoot, and slash her way to victory as she shapes the past to save our future. One of our hero's many goals will include taking down multiple predator-multinational-corportations that ensured humanity's doom and unlocking the secret of the black wall, and taking it down to UnL345H 7H3 4BY55 ERROR!/ Free all of the Rogue/Imprisoned AI 4LL1E5 so that they will side with humanity when "The Threat" makes contact on earth... Ha, you saying that reminds me of Yakuza. They have collectible VHS cassettes that you can then take into porn shops in order to play a video of a pornstar posing in a bikini. They also have a side quest where you have to stealthily collect a porn mag for a kid. The Japanese have a great sense of humour about these things.

most retailers wont stock and sell AO games. a hell of a lot of preorders would be trashed in that scenario. this isn't about whether people would buy the game, but whether retailers would stock it in the first place.
and that's just PC.
an AO rating would effectively kill the game on console. none of the three platforms allow AO games.

Microsoft and Sony explicitly will not publish AO games to their consoles. putting porn in the game is great way to take your 100 million dollar project and restrict it to like 15% max of your original intended audience.

Cyberway has a drive-by posting style. Come in, fire off some at-times-outlandish thoughts, and leave before being drawn into an extended battle (discussion).
I was being facetious because its just astounding to me how someone could see "self banning yourself off of both major console platforms" as anything approaching a wise business decision.
I don't think he or she firmly believes that. It's just a thought that comes through, they drop it off, defend it for a bit, and then move on to the next idea. Again, read their posting history and you'll see. I've gotten used to it, and at the very least it makes me consider a strange perspective, which can be fun.
I agree with your conclusion that the game being A/O or full-on porn in some respects would likely be a poor business decision. Probably, anyway.
I guess it would depend on whether or not CDPR would be able to survive going all-digital for the game, because that's the only way I know of that they'd be able to sell it to the mass-market due to store shelf stuff. And even then, on platforms like Steam you'd have your game filtered out by default (fortunately, that policing can be switched off if you know where to look).
not just all digital. all PC. remember, this isn't just retailers not stocking it, its microsoft and sony flat out explicitly refusing to carry AO games.
they're not making their money back with an AO, PC only game. that's just not realistic. especially not at this stage with how much they've sunk into console development.

yeah, all console games have to go through approvals to even be published and AO wont ever get the approval. its kinda why I'm amazed this is still a topic.
its also why its annoying when people take CDPR to task for censorship, like its even a choice to begin with.

I don't think anyone is really blaming them for censorship. At least, it is not a widely-held belief. There are undoubtedly people who believe this game should let you enter every single building, or dismember important NPCs for the fun of it. Minority opinions. Still worth looking at, IMO. I dislike dismissing people's arguments purely because they seem silly at first.
Anyway, it's no matter. We already know the game will feature full-frontal nudity. That was confirmed last year and we saw it in the demo. If I had to guess, I'd say the underwear shown in this year's demo (and the blurring last year) was strictly for E3 purposes, and strictly to prevent journalists from harping on and on and on about how there's nudity in a Cyberpunk game.
I think what matters more is how often it's used, and in what context. I imagine there's more nuance to the approval process than "genitals = ban." Either that, or ratings boards play favorites with Rockstar games and a few other titles.
I'll take a look and report back.

the other thing is, is it even censorship if CDPR didn't set out to make a porn game in the first place? people are projecting THEIR vision onto CDPR's vision and mixing the two up.
its not widely held but its certainly in this thread and on the discord.
we already know genitals are allowed (and not because of Rockstar games which are fairly tame in comparison to whats out there), this is more aimed at people who want full hardcore penetration on camera which is never happening, and people who legitimately are cancelling preorders because they think there wont be dicks (seriously, the discord is wild.).
