If they're talking about mixing genitalia and other nobbly bits, I don't see how or why there wouldn't be nudity for at least some steps of the editor.

You may well be right there!

Having said that, unless you've read something I missed, I think the bit about mixing it up (not the poster, heh) was more about having access to all features from both male and female customisation. I don't think we'll be, ahem, fiddling with the actual genitals, so to speak ;)

In other words, I'm imagining you'll choose male or female (which will then dictate what's under those undies) and then customise the rest. For example, if you add breasts to the male figure I don't think customisation will be so extensive that you'd need them nude. You'd just get breasts in a bra and then, possibly, size sliders. Mind you, I think it will be more limited than that anyway. Ha! Am I really getting into this much detail about genitals in a character generator?

Either way, I think the main concern is censorship in the actual game and I'm confident there won't be any, except in certain countries.

I really hope CDPR can stand strong against the Twitterati hate mobs and journos who would love nothing more than to dictate the story content of this game. For them, it's do it their way, or you might get half a dozen outlets implying your company is full of bigots.

This is exactly what CDPR does by aiming to show complete nudity.
no they aren't. that wouldn't give the game an AO rating. full sex acts would. we already have precedence on the nudity bit. there's zero risk there.

That would be a problem in the year 2000.

you cant claim that, when the graphical tech didn't exist back then to do it.

Soldier of Fortune back in 2000 was already wildly graphic, and it didn't stop the game from selling. if you even followed the MK franchise in the early 2000s they were as graphic as ever, it was simply a limitation of the graphics available at the time. manhunt came out just a couple years later. Postal 2 as well.

you're just assuming things that aren't fair to assume. MKX would have been fine back then assuming they had the graphical tech.

A naive outlook. All these companies care and gauge this shit.
obviously I was referring to whether or not they'd do something directly because of outside pressure. they haven't done that yet so....

obviously everyone cares, what matters is if they care enough, and in a specific way.

there's no precedent for you to even worry about whether they care about twitter in terms of shaping their game. you're just imagining a scenario and then treating it as a real threat.

Do I really need this level of nudity so I can get my rocks off? Nope. Do I think granny panties on everyone having sex in TW3 is silly? Yep.

yeah I'm not blaming that one on people whining on twitter though.

that was an internal decision before things even went public. blame CD porjekt for that, an d no one else.

you may be right but for my purposes I hope its, pick a body, then pick the nobly bits because starting with the standard build to match one set of genitals and then going through all the work to make the character look otherwise doesn't seem user friendly

I'd like sex to be a fully fledged management mini-game, complete with stats, gear and traits that govern the partner's arrousal, kinks and turn-ons.
Or they could choose to focus more resources and times on features that increase gameplay quality and replay value.

no one's taking the risk that their game wont be sold, period.

mk 11 would have been fine in 2000. The MK level of violence isn't new at all. its just more defined.

This games pre-orders are already higher than Witcher 3, so they are on track to sell well with this. Its quite nice actually, debuts doesnt sell much usually.

All of the games you mentioned are on the index in Germany and even with today's visual possibilities MK 11 would not have come on the market in Germany at that time.

If you aren't ashamed after, you're doing sex wrong. ;)

When you must be ashamed of your sexual preferences.... well, then I feel sorry for you.

Showing nudity is different than showing pornography. Will there be nudity? Almost certainly yes. Will there be sex? Almost certainly yes. Will you be able to see everything during romance scenes? No.

As said by xer21, an AO rating is not going to happen. It would mean the game cannot release on consoles, and the PC version would not be carried by most retailers in the United States, Australia, most Asian markets, and etc. Including XXX porn would likely cut sales in more than half. You can harp all you want on why the system is more upset by sexuality than violence (a valid point), but I sincerely doubt CDPR is willing to lose hundreds of millions of dollars in sales to make a point about sex censorship when they can tell a story just as well (and IMO better) by showing short TPP romance scenes just like TW3.

I am an adult, I do not want my game censored because some tweens might play the game. I don't care if they have the game censored by default as long as there's a option to turn censorship off.

Please stay true to the source material, no shenanigans and telling us it isn't important please.
