Shani ending[SPOILERS]

So,there is no way that Geralt can end up with Shani(?).I hope that if an EE is ever made,we will be able to get Shani as a permanent partner

ive finished HOS main quest, but shani in my game is at her house and theres no extra dialogue even though she asked me to see her just before she leaves. Is this normal or should I have spoken to her after leaving the oxenfurt university,

I talked to her right after Oxenfurt,University, she had a few more lines I think you missed.

Bigger question: I know most people would have played HoS after they've finished the main game or as a solo game option like myself. I noticed there was a lack of story montage at the end of HoS like at the end of Wild Hunt. I wonder if say, you complete HoS before completing the main game, then complete the main game, will Shani and Olgierd appear in the ending montage, detailing how they went on with their lives. I would love to know how Shani's story goes on

P.S. - if you return to Vlodmir's crypt after you complete HoS, you'll see a flower. Geralt deduces that it's from Shani

Regarding whitewoofs spoiler tag, I thought this would lead to a further conversation option with shani but alas nothing. Or maybe she really fell in love with him.

I hope that eventual EE will wrap all the loose ends and add some depth in general to certain characters. Right now some people have only cameo appearance, despite their importance (Emhyr, Eredin) and some aren't even in game (Iorweth, Saskia, Henselt (I mean... the way he's dealt with is terrible), Letho). I think they deserve some closure, not just "I have to go" and disappear forever.

Prior to the Oxenfurt Academy quest, post-wedding, I already spoke to Shani where

she says she going off for duty, and gives all the reasons why she and Geralt can't be together

Right after the Oxenfurt Academy quest before the last quest, I visited Shani and all she has to say is the the same conversation about her past activities after Vyzima.

After the last quest I visited Shani and it's still the same conversation. Am I missing anything?

if i remember correctly, she says to go visit her in her house, you go she explains why they can't be together and
that she and geralt can be friends or something like that and have a bottle wine now and then, and that's all

there is no more of her :(

Yeap. That's exactly what I got. But like i said, I got that even before Oxenfurt Academy quest. Was hoping for something more

They can't contradict the books for every character, just for certain ones...

I think they should have done it nevertheless, especially after giving her such a role in TW1 and then ripping her out of it for TW2.

The books wouldn't stand in the way for that either. All we know from the books (or what I recall and the wiki is supporting that) is that
she becomes the dean of Oxenfurt for medicine and lives a long life.

I can't remember she having children, but I might be wrong on that, though I could imagine that she wants some and since Geralt isn't capable of that, hm..

Geralt living with her during those years would be quite reasonable and imaginable in my opinion.

But I do like how they resolved it in the end, parting in a good way.

I doubt this was about contradicting the books. I think it was more that in order to make it a full romance they would have needed to implement something to resolve the triss\yen\shani choice. Like it takes three to tango. There would be three new scenarios that would need to be resolved; shani\triss, shani\yen and shani\yen\triss, and since that the expansion doesn't take place in any specific time frame it would be rather awkward and possible create even more scenarios, say if you pick Shani after already picking yen\triss. Too many complications!

Yes, the base game already has enough problems reacting to the existing choices, and adding Shani would increase the number of possible states to 8. It would also be complicated by the ability to play the expansion after the epilogue.

And story-wise, maybe Shani would not want a long term relationship with Geralt:

"Some of you have surely heard the rumors about the relationship that bloomed between the young medic Shani and Geralt. I hasten to inform you that they are all true. I consider Shani a friend both true and old. We go back to the days when I lectured in minstrelsy at Oxenfurt University, and I was the one to introduce her to the witcher. Upon Geralt's return to the living, they were reunited in Vizima, where the red-haired medic competed with Triss Merigold for Geralt's heart. She emerged victorious from the rivalry.

The flame of their romance blazed bright, but it burned out quickly. Though a very young woman, Shani proved more mature than the witcher, who had always found relationships puzzling and difficult. Geralt would dodge his obligations towards her, preferring instead to pursue the missions King Foltest assigned him. The medic quickly realized this flour would yield no bread. She had a serious conversation with the witcher, and they parted amicably.

Shani accepted an offer to teach at Oxenfurt and left for that city, whereas Geralt followed Foltest to the lands of the La Valettes. After splitting with Shani, the witcher needed comforting and quickly found solace in Triss Merigold's arms."

Now after patch 1.11 I have following problem: I finished HoS and when I want go back to Shanis house to talk with her about the wedding and to play gwent with her she isn't anymore in her house. But there lies the olgierd gwentcard on a table (similar to the card of the bloody baron after his leaving to the blue mountains). Have I missed her now completly for the final dialogue?! Bug or feature?! :ermm::ermm::ermm::ermm::ermm::ermm:

Although I love Triss I have to say I really like and admire Shani, she is a mature (psychologically speaking) woman who wanted a stable and reliable partner close to her. She likes Geralt but she is aware that he is unreliable and he wouldn't be able to give to her what she expect from him. She was strong enough to draw the conslusion and cut ties with Geralt before she commits more emotions in this affair. That takes great strenght.

I also like how she is a normal and easygoing person you can meet outside in the street and spend nice time together. Really like her, she provides a reassuring, fresh and positive perspective on woman from those of sorceresses.

I think you miss her cause if you spoke to her earlier, she will mention that Redania is going to send her to the frontline. So, once the main quest ended, Shani will left the clinic for her new destination. Definitely not a bug.

Shani is my favorite female character. She is level headed and not full of herself. Triss is an opportunist and Yen is too much "high Maintenance." Both of them egotist that are power hungry and very political. I do not romance either. Shani would be perfect for the Witcher but wisely Shani understands that the Witcher is not perfect for her. Sad really as they make such a good couple.
