Buggy ENV can also provide a nice (not really playable) look...

Of course, these shots do not represent how i play at all.. they're high-res and have the settings cranked way up (forgot to use a lower MipBias and some DoF on the first 2 though). My computer almost died, lol.

If anyone wants to know, the ENV number is #118 (the last one, i think). It won't look like this if you're using the STLM fix for ULM, because it replaces this ENV.

I'll go play the expansion and mess around with presets again. Bye. :happy2:

@vesemas228 It looks good to me. But it does look more colorful than what i expect from you, haha. When you think it's good enough, i would love test it =)

118 is not broken dammit :p Pro tip, envblend in the 20's. Its one of ones where you want both as much and as little as possible.. the yellow effect does wonders for the global illumination but makes everything in the world look yellow... Try it with super turbo cartoon should do wonders for it. Is that what kng did with his bonus config?

I just wanted to say how much i really liked those screenshots.. because they're the first time i've seen 118 at high levels look nice, and also because they're the first shots ive seen where the depth of field effects you guys love are just well done. Good stuff man!!

Yeah i'm still stuck. There's 2 problems.. my ao addiction (every time i turn it down i cry even though it probably looks bad) and velen. The lighting just sucks there.. as it is novigrad is fine, but velen looks terrible. Gamma is the only thing that fixes it, but also washes it out.. you reckon its colorful? I reckon its significantly more desaturated than anything ive posted before.. its just not screwed up any more as there's no color subtraction happening from that 1000x better preset that was used as the original base.

Yeah.. witcher 3.. the game and what im visioning is all about whores and peasants :)

EDIT: I was gonna ask how did you get rivatuner to make your png's so small.. then i set one as my back ground and nevermind. That's about right. Thanks for 4k.

EDIT 2: Could be it. But damn.. see what i did was make the heavy ao effect version work. I almost was about to get a less ao version, which still looked nice, to work.. but noooooo.. not me....

550am, good morning!!

I don't know how you did it, but why does #118 look like this for me:

I guess we gotta fix that env to make it look like on your screens permanently? I want that so bad! :D

Well I guess I shouldn't always envBlend to full 1.0

this looks much better blended with 0.5 over default lighting, still needs some major fixes though. like SunAreaSize is way over 9000 look at the bright mountains in the distances.

sorry for ruining your awesome screenshot thread with these ugly pieces.

Hey there puss peepers!!!

Geez how good is HoS? Was off playing another game for a week or so.. thought to just start off HOS before going to bed.. 1/2 an hour later the opening cutscene is over and i'm giddy again at how good the story telling is. I'm very much regretting skimming though the ign video review now..

puss peepers!!!!

@KNGRSM The ENV here also looks like that... I simply took shots of the bright part of the sky only :). The colors are like that because of this preset (Only the preset). Proof that i have the buggy dark/bright sky:

I used a 1.0 Blend value. But as @vesemas228 said, and as you showed, using lowers values to mix with the default lighting is the way to go.

It looked very bad overall at first, but then i found some spots in which it looked beautiful like in the screenshots. I didn't go exploring into forests or something, i bet it can be really awesome too. The water reflections look simply beautiful. I wonder if this ENV is actually used somewhere?

KNG, the DoF on your second shot looks like the DoF on the STLM fix from your ULM mod.
I like that DoF, is there any way to always have it like that on any ENV? IIRC you did a version for Cutscene Lighting that had it, didn't you?
I'm just curious, as i would like to always have it and not need the Reshade one, which destroys my performance. (You can answer me on the ULM thread or through PM)

Just some quick .redfur modding that resulted in some pretty cool screenshots :D

I present to you the Firebird!

It is it's own entity, I mounted the whole thing as DLC and added it as new entity to the game.
