Should Runewords & Glyphwords stack with older runes/glyphs?

Looking at the new Enchanted Words, they seem fairly underwhelming. Now you add on to this the fact that they replace your already installed runes (poison, bleed etc) and glyphs (+sign intensity, etc), and it even further devalues the Words. Stuff like changing gear weight category is something nice, and I'd love to try it out. But not at the expense of my installed runes/glyphs. These Words also require a lot of financial and time investment.
That's why I feel that these Words should stack with your already installed runes/glyphs, and not replace them.

What are your thoughts?

I haven't seen the rune words yet, but I imagine it was some form of balancing. Single player or not I'm sure they don't want to make a single mechanic broken or OP

If stacking was allowed, my guess is that Geralt would be pretty Imba. My biggest problem with the old rune system was that you could have 3 runes that give you 15% chance of burning for example, but more often than not, during battles the chances of said effect happening was still pretty low. Runeword 'Replenishment' (my fav) gives you a 100% chance of applying whatever sign effect you've casted (seriously, igni flaming sword is the coolest thing ever). Also, I have never used a sign build, so all glyphs were useless to me. Used to stack all my gear with greater quen glyphs but never actually saw my quen becoming any stronger than without them. So I would take glyphword Retribution over the old glyph system any day. All in all, I prefer the new gameplay varieties the rune/glyphword provides. But yeah, I've burnt through more than 70k experimenting on them

I think the feature needs a bit more thought. Some of the effects have good effects, others seem more cosmetic and I certainly wouldn't want to lose my runes etc because of things like that.

I don't think they should stack, defeats the purpose of choice. There's a glyph word for deflecting arrows, that lets me replace the 1 skill for blocking arrows (have it cause in NG+ crowsbows are deadly as hell) and 1 open skill is better than 30% for one sign.

I think they give a good flavour to the game and allow for even more varried play styles, but not without a cost, good to have choices and not "requirements" which they end up being if you can stack them.

Remember witch changing armour class you can then get associated bonuses, for instance using cat armour and upgrading to mid and then using gryphon school technique for some well needed sign intensity (20% if it changes all your armour, have to read the tool tip again).

I'm sure the intention is for them to be relatively equal in strength to 3 runes/glyphs just different.
