Having a voice actor in an rpg like this will really add to the immersion of the game, and i don't think it will be too hard they just need 2 good voice actors, 1 male and 1 female, also it would be fun if we can buy some voice implant and ur voice start sounding like darth vader or some robot :)

I really don't mind one way or the other, while a good Protagonist VO can add to the immersion if that voice doesn't match what they sound like in your head it can be very jarring.

Unless somehow CD Projekt Red have synthetic speech to make a costumizable voiced protagonist I prefer Voiced
otherwise I choose the Silent one to compensate amazingly open sandbox-RPG-Action experience

I really prefer the silent protagonist like with KOTOR. The responses were incredibly detailed, full sentences, as opposed to Mass Effect where you get 3 choices but they all produce the same line. Also none of your characters feel any different. If you make your character from the ground up and they all have the same voice, well.. Blehh. One might be a Cop and the other might be a rockerboy, yet they sound the same even though they aren't alike in culture or otherwise.

The more I think about it,. the more I think I want them to just go with silent protagonist...

it just really makes more sense all around, and frees up resources for other stuff.

At least one male and female good voice actors. Preferably different for each class. What i would like to see is speech playing a part. For the one's with terrible speech vocally fucking up the lines, possibly to a hilarious degree, should be present. For the one's who excel at it, perfect delivery.. However, the best thing they can do is either/and give it to mods or crowd-source it. I'm sure many fans would be willing to do the legwork, and well.

Voiced for sure. Cyberpunk is a game with character, style over substance, remember? So we need a protagonist with style and character and voice adds at least 87.8% to that ;)

Indeed I want to hear my character complaining when he got shoot like

"I got to get out of here"

"Here we go again" If the police chase me again

"Look here, nice" If I found rare or money or valuable objects

stuff like that I don't want fallout hear my character in battle but not in conversations.

I vote for near fully voiced roles. It adds massive levels of immersion.

I vote voiced also, but played enough rpgs that it doesn't bother me that much if it'll end up being silent.

Fully voiced.
@OP, could've turned this into a poll imho.

I don't think the people who want the game fully voiced really realize how many resources that eats up in a game... and how many areas of play have to be sacrificed for it....

Or maybe its just that important to them...

But really, if something has to be sacrificed, for me anyway, a voiced protagonist is first on the chopping block.

I completely agree with you on that, but it's just a nice piece to add on. Last thing I'd want is it to impact total gameplay.

True, however, we also have to assume they are going all out. I mean they said their targeted graphics for the game is what was in the teaser trailer. We have to assume that since they are shooting for such a high bar, the technology to include fully voiced work will be more than capable for what people desire. Though that says nothing about the cost ...

Witcher 2 was fully voiced and had all other bells and whistles and still it was made with a fraction of a budget that big western developers usually get.

And yes, they are going all out with CP2077, no strings attached. This is going to be AAA+ plus game, like they like to describe it themselves.

I hate to say it, but comparing this game to Witcher, or Using Witcher as a base, isn't really the correct way to go. From what I understand Witcher really wasn't all that much in terms of Open World. Also, it was the story of one person, pre-determined. He was another persons creation, as was his story. There were no considerations made for female characters, characters of different races and backgrounds, characters of differing roles.

This is going to be an entirely new type of game, and if what we are seeing is true, then it will be a true mic of open world and RPG elements... so while comparisons of some aspects of the game can be made to other games, in the end I have a feeling what we are going to end up with is something unique, and not seen before.

So saying Witcher had a voiced protagonist, is overlooking a whole lot of things... Witcher had one possible protagonist, male, caucasion, with a pre-set history, motivations, and attitude. Cyberpunk at the very least will require 2 voices... one male and one female, at an absolute minimium, if they decide to go voiced. And since every fan of the witcher is quick to point out, every mission had multiple directions the game could be taken in... presumably that means multiple dialogues. That eats up a ridiculous amount of resources. Which is likely why the game didn't have horses, even though that was one of the things they really wanted to include. It also meant the world was more limited. Is there proof that it was the voiced protagonist that prevented these things from appearing in te game... no....

But if it comes down to vehicles or voiced protagonist, or voice and larger world, or voice and a more interactive world, or voice and more story missions, or voice over better netrunning... then for me, the voice gets cut first over any of those things...

In the end, Voiced protagonists are a nice trim to the world, but they have pretty much zero impact on game play itself, or the fun I am having with a game. They are nothing but a nice bow on the package, but if they can add more gameplay to the game by omitting voices, then I can live without them easily.

Very much this. I loved Adam Jensen's voice and Geralt's voice and Agent 47's voice...but if you'd offered my more content to DXHR or Witcher 2 or Hitman Blood Money, I probably would have taken you up on your offer in a fast instant. Probably.

For an open world game, I think a core of voice dialogure would be fun, but to voice every line your character might speak in two sexes...I just can't see that not cutting into content or gameplay options.

The budget for this game will be bigger than that of Witcher 2, so they might make it with both open world and voiced protagonists(of both genders). Bigger game to make with far bigger resources than the previous one. Oh, and the Witcher 2 budget was also consumed by the development of the RED Engine, which is now in place so that cost will go down.

Its not just a matter of budget, there is a limit to how much you can put on a disc, even for Next Gen... we may not know what that limit is, but there is definitely a ceiling...

Don't get me wrong, i see the point you are making. But this is 2013. 2015 before it comes out. PC is already mostly Digital distribution, the amount of diskspace is largely irrelevant.
And consoles? We don't know anything about what M$ and Sony have in the works but given the chatter that has been making the rounds, it's likely they are going to phase out dvd/bluray distribution for one simple reason: They make no profit off of used sales.
