[SK] Legendary Kambi

[SK] Legendary Kambi

I myself don't play SK deck, but I played against one player who used Kambi and it was hilarious, after 3 turns Kambi spawned Hemdall on my side and wiped all board but I got myself free 12 value from gold Hemdall. So I wondering, is there any situation where Kambi is useful? Should it be reworked? If I ever start playing SK I don't see myself occupying gold slot for this card lol.

You play kambi, your spy, and then Hjalmar.

basically you use kambi on a long round, eliminating everything from the board and securing a win via either your golds (hjalmar) or via ressurect after kambi goes off

Kambi is my favourite card on Gwent ever (as you can see by my profile pic). On closed beta i waited 3 months to see if i got him on a drop till i gave up and crafted him. This time, i got tremendous luck and got it on a Keg on the 3rd day!

It's exactly because people think its bad and dont use it that i was able to catch most people offguard, and win 80-90% matches with that deck, no matter how high their rank was.

Yes, you're giving 12 gold points to the enemy, but there are plenty of ways to counter it:

1. you can leave your golds for the round you're using Kambi. Hjalmar is fantastic (unfortunately i no longer have him), currently im using Avallach, but Geralt works too.

2. if he's smart and plays his gold cards before GREAT LORD HEMDALL arrives, demoting them is a good move

3. playing a spy on those 3 turns is also highly recommended, as card advantage is huge with this deck

4. in the early rounds, i just focus on strengthening morkvaarg and that bronze that gets stronger everytime he dies. Then i usually only need 1 medic after Hemdall to surpass the enemies points

Kambi is niche, but not without uses. The problem with Kambi is you have to be able to play him on your terms. If your opponent forces him out by long playing you in Round 1, or by getting an advantage in Round 2 if you've already lost Round 1, you lose the Round 3 benefits from him.

Good Cards to use with Kambi are as mentioned, Hjalmar, Morkvarg, Spies, and Prize Winning Cow.

Bad Cards to face when playing Kambi are Grave Hag, Tibor, and D-Shackles.

I play since week 2 of closed beta and just saw that card used against me once (and to no effect).

Imo, it should reworked. It had some tweaks back on the days but the mechanics remain pretty much the same. As any niche card it has some fans, but it was never a competitive card.

The current Aus #1 in Rank xbox plays Kambi in his deck...

Xbox ladder is way les competitive than PC. And, to be frank, right now it wouldnt mean much even on the pc ladder, people are still climbing and farming up their collection again. We will only see the real top players on a month or two from now.

It can be a fun card but it only works as long as people don't expect it and I'm not sure the current meta is ideal for kambi.

Kambi was almost useless in CB but there is a synergy for it now (better than it was in CB).

One can argue that xbox is competitively different than PC. We have no access to card trackers so we can assume a lesser efficiency. If we ever played cross platform with PC, we would be at a disadvantage. Doesn't mean the xbox peeps are not better at playing.

Sorry, but i dont see any synergy with kambi that wasnt already present on CB. One could even say he is worse now since he is too dependent on CA to have a slight chance to work and skel has 2 less spies now.

As for the xbox ladder, i say this because i heard from an xbox player.

You guys keep on trashing Kambi while i remain undefeated with his deck, now i even upgraded him to premium cuz he deserves the praise for so many victories he gives me...

With the amount of discard tool for SK + mass resurrect + the creeping base of an archer.... you think it hard to burn everything then throw out a 20 strength card?

I'm an xbox player. I don't run Kambi though i've beaten the guy that runs Kambi once. He's beaten me 2x now. So I can appreciate someone running he's own deck more than someone who copies the meta and uses a card tracker.

PS. Not saying you do....

The amount of discard tool for sk is roughly the same.

Its funny because i did faced a kambi deck yesterday and i did loose on casual, but it was a very close call and i was just fooling around with a experimental build, so still trash for me.

As for deck tracker, i dont know why you hate it. Its just a QoL tool, pretty much all the top players use it on the ladder. And its not that they cant play good without it, its just a "neurons saver".

neuron saver in a game that relies upon those neurons to win? have you tried using a card tracker/counter in vegas? what would happen? lol..

In a game that relies upon intelligence to win. Neurons everybody has, even monkeys.

So in your opinion a noob that uses decktracker will become a much better player?

So you decidedly considered using the term 'neuron' to mean something else rather than intelligence/memory in your 1st statement? moving teh goalpost are we?

PS. you haven't answered the other question about what would happen if you brought a card tracker to a casino?

Yes, i could have used calories too. In the end "save more neurons" was just a matter of expression if you couldnt tell. Is a QoL tool like i said. I can play with decktracker and play without it, the only thing that will change is that i will probably have to think a little longer before make my plays, but it wont change how well i play the game and how i do my decisions.

I didnt answer your question because you comparison is completely flawed. Do we play gwent at casinos? No, we dont. Gwent is not blackjack. Gwent have its own set of rules and just because its played with cards it doesnt mean it has the same core mechanics as any other card game. Its like you want to apply basketball rules to soccer just because both games play with a ball...

The only information that is hidden on gwent is your opponent hand cards (and on some cases not even that), your opponent deck and the order of the cards on your own deck and no decktracker will give you those. Also, currently decktrackers give information that the game SHOULD give you but it doesnt (although the devs already said they want to implement it) like the units base strength and banished cards.

Now its my time to ask for you to answer my question.

i got destroyed by kambi in one game just when i was sure of wining i used sucubus to get a big veteran, but it got burned and sucubus stayed at oponent :)

Balls. Really? I think you're argument is flawed because any game with rules, be it card games or ball games have rules. Most of the time, any tools that may provide an advantage is not allowed.

A persons IQ is based on MEMORY and INTELLIGENCE. You have just pushed aside one of the main requirements to play a game then put it under 'QoL'.

Spending $200 for cards would greatly improve my QoL. Would it be fair to those still new or grinding?

As for 'information only hidden is your opponents hand', have you played POKER?

******** Did they allow a deck tracker at the tournament? ***********
