Skipping in Enhanced Edition Directors Cut from GOG.com

I'm running a GTX 670 with 16GB of RAM @3.4GhZ.

On even the lowest settings I get constant skipping and stuttering whenever I move. The skipping and stuttering is equally bad on the highest setting and lowest setting. I've downloaded all the latest drivers. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I've enabled and disabled VSync. None of these things have made any difference. I'm not sure what else to do.

This is a new computer, so I don't think defragging will help.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

edit:tried defragging, no luck

Is your driver up to date?

Tommy,

Everything was set to application controlled. How do I set prerendered frames to 1?

Thank you.

Open your Nvidia Control Panel. Go to "Manage 3D settings". Find "The Witcher" in the list. In the settings list, find "Maximum pre-rendered frames". Click on it. Change it to "1". Click "Apply".

Thank you, no such luck though. I put prerendered frames to 1 for both the launcher and .exe file.

Set texture memory budget to 1000mb+ by tweaking the config files.

That would work for Witcher 2 but not Witcher 1 .

@ Auron11022
Could be that your antivirus program is causing the skipping . Try making an exception in your antivirus program for The Witcher folder . Modern av programs start scanning the moment they detect any hard drive activity .

No luck?

I guess I can contact gog.com and see if I can get a refund for The Witcher 1+2 because I have no desire to play the second without the first and purchased them as a bundle. Maybe I'll be lucky and I can get my money back.

Do you have all applicable updates from the manufacturer for your computer ? What OS are you using ?
