I don't know how, maybe give 80% damage reduction and remove crit chance to bullets passing through walls? The fact is, Snipers are currently the DeFacto problem solvers for EVERY tricky situation in the game. And you don't even have to build a dedicated sniper.

1) Playing a Gorilla Arms berserker? Ping and Snipe, problem solved.
2) Revolver based futuristic Cowboy with hat and everything? Ping and Snipe, problem solved.
3) Samurai/Ninja theme with Katanas and Knives? Ping and Snipe, problem solved.
4) Cyberdeck build able to fry brains from two blocks away? Ping and Snipe, problem solved.
5) Grenadier technician who can drop a whole squad with two grenades? Ping and Snipe, problem solved.
6) Ghost Sniper who can clear a random Badlands Wraith camp from atop a Watson skyscraper...Ping and Snipe, problem solved.:ok:

Everything in this game is OP, you haven't seen anything yet. It's not even the damage of snipers that's the problem. Look at metal gear solid, those snipers one hit kill. But the game has good enough AI to call in reinforcements, send snipers against you, equip gear to protect their self from headshots, bring out the tanks where your sniper can't do shit. The game knows to flank you and overwhelm you with numbers. The level design is good enough to where you can't use snipers in all situations. Also if you snipe someone, then their body is just going to be sitting there, and when someone notices it they sound an alarm and the mission gets way harder.

CDPR just threw in snipers without caring about level and enemy design and that's where the problem is. Plenty of games have snipers that one hit kill without it being overpowered. This game is just so hollow that it doesn't encourage varied gameplay. You can get away with any build and it will break the game.

You don't even have to have a sniper rifle in your inventory for that matter...

You can wipe out entire engagements at near sniper range (it's still far outside enemy detection range) with quick hacks, and much faster too when you consider the reload and shooting animations.

You can also just go full Terminator by having ridiculously high amounts of armor, and just wade through bullet fire (only melee and elemental effects can damage you, and you can become 100% immune to the elemental stuff) blasting everything away with a shotgun. Or just use the slow-mo cyberware with a one-hit-kill-anything-in-the-game katana etc.

The beauty of this type of game is that everything is absurdly powerful if you play it right.

This is not a multiplayer game, so if something is OP it doesn't matter all that much. You can just not use it.

Personnally, I try to find more fun and challenging ways to play the game. I don't think that this game is about min/maxing. This is not an ARPG like Path Of Exile

You can't Ping if you have Berserk because you can't hack.
Also, I have never EVER used ping in 130 hours of gameplay lol. People say that it's OP so I probably will never use it.

People are not min/maxing, they play for fun, the game is super easy. This makes roleplay much harder, because you have to handicap yourself. No headshots, no double jump, no super hacks, game gets harder, but not more fun:p

I agree that the game should be harder though. Tougher enemies, more aggressive AI, and some enemies should be immune/very resistants to some attacks.

Also, maybe have some enemies with very good helmets resistant to headshots ?

Also, you can initiate fights with a sniper and finish off enemies with other weapons.
