Agree on the return of longer names, the implementation of REAL premium cards instead of that stupid shine (if it isnt ready, dont release the card yet, that simple), and that the PTR duration was ridiculous and it needed more testing.

I can live with the new interface, although the old one was way better, at least for any Witcher fan.

i am new to gwent and came after the patch , but let me explain what is dislike after watching streams and playing the game by myself :

1 Ciri nova : being able to pull a 25 points cards in one swing when you are the last to play is not fair , because there is no counter to it , ok you need 25 points of margin but this seems unfeasable most of time (same for the bear)

2 : the deck with queen arachas and nekker seems really too strong in the meta there is only few counters to it and sometimes even if you counter nekkers strategy the deck is still able to win too often .(maybe buff the dmg of cards that locks units and make units of this type )

3 : only few archetypes are viable at high rank level of play and it is not good for diversity of the game(s) (monsters got only one archetype nekkers and queen arachas and seems a broken deck )
(solutions maybe : make dagon able to spawn frost so we can see a frost archetype maybe with dagon (i was trying this when i was new to the game but dagon is unable to spawn frost which make the choose of this hero not in synergy with the monsters and weather )) (solutions 2 make another unit that can spawn moon or blood moon so a new moon archetype can see play there )

4 : the spy and spy abuse mechanic need to go this make an unfair card advantage for the player who play it .

5 : the rows now means nothing as you can play any card on any row i was liking the strategy involved in old rows when i watch videos of that .
maybe a change is doable by doing this : print on cards if it's melee middle row or ranged row and then the following : melee row your melee unit got +1 point middle row weathers applied in this row and from this row do 1 more dmg and ranged row , units on this row do 1 more ranged dmg with this change the game can be unique and rules can be cool to learn and fun to watch .

6 : the card which allow two tremors in one is disastrous in term of swing , it ruin entirely an entire board .
-----
and here ideas i got for the game :

new modes : a draft system like hearthstone when you need to choose between 3 cards for a 25 cards deck . (and a ranking system for this mode , i know some peoples are specialist of this type of mode and it can provide fun and competition

a new mode with 40 cards (called extended mode) so peoples who want to play 40 cards and make a deck like this will be able to do it
and where each round your hand is refilled to maximum .

Disagree with you on every point except for spies. Having a card that can give a 25 point swing is easy to counter because you will see it coming with the exception of Shupe.

Every time I want to give this patch another try, it's kicking me between the legs

I raise you with:

Seriously though, CDPR has acknowledge this problem and the Silver spy issue will be fixed in the coming patch.

I'm loving this new patch tbh, so many cards, gives you the oppurtunity to get creative and come up with some really smart moves.

There has been so many negative responses to this patch that most likely CDPR noticed them.
Was there any reaction that I missed? Are they going to undo any changes in the next patch or atleast taking the negative responses seriously?

Unfortunately we are in a state of confusion. No one can say for sure. This is down to how the development team handled (or didn’t) the last few mishaps. I sincerely doubt anything will be undone. Because the game is transitioning from gwent online to a game that will attract many casual players across a mobile market.

they should do what this guy say maybe it can be good for the game : quote medecinemanfromww2

Three simple steps to save Gwent:
  1. Every card with the word 'create' is doomed (or better yet, removed altogether). No more create chains.
  2. Every card that rezzes from your graveyard is doomed (no more rezzing into rez chains).
  3. With few exceptions, any card that creates another card weakens/damages that card by the base strength of the unit that created it. I.E. if slave driver pulls a vrihedd dragoon, the dragoon is weakened/damaged by 3. The exception being disloyal units, which are boosted/strengthened by the same amount. This not only fixes the issue with 'X on a stick' create cards, but indirectly buffs spell cards, making for a more control/tactic based meta instead of just points on sticks.
This doesn't solve 100% of the balance issues but it solves a huge majority of them.

Yes.

Here are some things that I consider positives:
  • The UI is way better, especially the deck builder
  • Most of the new cards are great, and a lot of fun (Shupe!)
  • Entirely new archetypes have been enabled via new and changed cards
  • QoL tweaks (e.g. reconnect feature, the speed at which some effects play out)
  • The scrolling sound effect bug while alt-tabbed has been fixed
  • Other good tweaks (e.g. Consume animation, Silver Crones/Witchers always showing up in correct order)

I am not saying there are no negatives - I've run into a few issues myself - but in my opinion the pros easily outweigh the cons.

The most important changes were to the game's mechanics, and most agree those changes are abysmal.

At this point, paper-cutting my nether-region multiple times, is more enjoyable than playing against the multitude of OP dwarf decks.

Gwent with current patch is even worse than Hearthstone
(in December I would not have believed that I would say this)
