So... I guess even dwarves hate elf-lovers...

So, I've 'taken sides' with the Scoia'tael, so therefore the Order hates me -- naturally -- along with a lot of the human passersby -- naturally (though even the prostitute who hangs out in the nonhuman district! What the hell?) -- but... and this is the weird thing... Vivaldi will no longer let me sleep at his place, and the dwarven blacksmith won't deal with me because I'm not a friend and nobody's recommended me . . . um... hello... Zoltan? Zoltan Chivay? Ever hear of him? Good friend of mine? He put in a good word for me before? Which is why use used to deal with me? Did something change?Sigh... so I'm forced to deal with the guy in the Market District now, oh well, I guess the game was written this way so I'd be forced to switch dealers and make this new guy relevant . . . or something. Thing is: He'd be relevant anyhow, just on the basis of convenience, if he didn't ask for a gemstone for an opening favor.Oh, well... no big deal, except now I have nowhere in the Temple District to sleep for free....But the really weird thing is that now the Order merchant will deal with me... even though I'm a filthy "elf-lover" . . . though of course not the special-orders merchant.

Vivaldi always despised Scoia'tael, you could read that in his letter to Yaevinn. Zoltan's opinions on the "freedom fighters" isn't overly high either. However the dwarven blacksmith is a glitch. Since you helped Yaevinn in the bank, he should be happily doing business with you.

It's because of Scoia'tael the elves and dwarfs living in cities are in constant danger of repercussions. Whole race is blamed for actions of a few rebels.

Hmm...I find Flash's perspective interesting, and would probably agree with it if it weren't for the fact that the blacksmith actually says to you that he won't sell to you because he doesn't want his weapons being used against non-humans.If he were afraid of repercussions: he wouldn't say that.Besides: by now, all elves and dwarves should by now realize that they're all likely to answer for the war at some point, and that therefore they might as well take sides.Better to join the Scoia'tael than wait for yourself to be imprisoned or killed out of fear that you might be a spy.Gorthuar:Vivaldi might not approve of Yaevinn's approach, but he's still a friend of Yaevinn, and in fact
close to the end of Ch.3 he takes Yaevinn in, actually shelters him, which in this climate is quite a dangerous thing to do, so this says something about his relationship with Yaevinn. He might disapprove of what Yaevinn is doing, but if he's sheltering Yaevinn, then they're obviously close friends.Honestly: when Yaevinn came to the bank: my first impression was that Yaevinn's intention was not to try to get the humans to return it to Vivaldi (method for doing that: unclear, except, maybe, if the people of Vizima decide the money is more secure if it's in a dwarf's hands -- the money being highly important to the city's stability) but rather to take the money for himself, to fund the Scoia'tael....Of course, at the same time there's the argument that putting the money back into Vivaldi's hands gives Vivaldi and Scoia'tael more leverage . . . more realistically the latter would be the more rational conclusion, and should lead also to Vivaldi's arrest or even his execution.I don't think I'd put very many cruelties past the Order. I'm sure there would be many among their ranks who'd feel that nothing short of complete genocide would keep Vizima 'safe' . . . or at least safe from any 'attack from within'.

Vivaldi might not have any other choice but to support him, even if he disapproves. Might also be the fact that he was almost executed few days earlier by humans.Dwarven smith is pro-Scoia'tael. You probably can't trade with him because it's not 0/1 friend/foe mechanics. You have to do more quests to gain his trust. It's possible to finish some quests in favor of the Order and other quests in favor of Scoia'tael and have the possibility to trade with neither group. You must focus on one path.

Yeah . . . thing is, though: I've never been anything but pro-Scoia'tael, starting with allowing them to take the goods in Ch.1. In contrast: I can't recall ever doing anything favorable to the Order, unless allowing Siegfried to fight alongside me in the Sewers counts, and I don't see why it should, unless appearances matter, and Act 2 didn't suggest that they did. In Act 2 the blacksmith was quite open to dealing with me, since Zoltan put in a good word for me, so there was no reason for me to think that Siegfried's friendliness toward me made the blacksmith suspicious or else rubbed him the wrong way.Well, no matter, really.

If you discover that the Scoia'tael are feeding humans to ghouls in the cemetery, the dwarven blacksmith won't do business with you. Bizzarely, siding with the elves in the bank won't change the blacksmith's mood.
