So, NG+ again in relation to 2.3

+
I know it's been talked about a bunch, but I am asking for confidence. They've said they won't do NG+, I saw in another thread CDPR actual reasoning behind why not. But the fact people keep hoping for it AND CDPR saying numerous times about other things "we are done, no more, we wont..." and then they do the thing got me a bit nervous. I feel fairly confident that they still won't ever do NG+. Due to that, I am continuing to work on my "Speed Leveling Tutorial" project and it's taking me a long ass time to make this 3 part series. It's meant for ppl like me that do not use mods (since I hear there is a NG+ mod). TBH, I don't really care if it gets 10 views or 1000, if just one or two people follow the tutorial and thank me for it after is all I actually care about. BUT, that tiny bit of nervousness that they might go "HAHA, we tricked you, 2.3 has NG+", just makes me feel I am wasting a shit ton of time on this project. 183 recordings, 3 playthroughs (30+ hours each for testing what I'm teaching), a mountain of notes, and a few weeks total on the editing of the actual videos which required I buy 32gb more ram due to project size... Really hope I didn't waste all that time, lol

Regardless, my tutorial is going to end at 25hr mark, but I continued past for personal reasons (to make stylized videos of NCPD scanners, missions, gigs, etc) and 32 hrs in EVERYTHING max level (including level itself, that was the last thing, everything else max several hours prior). I have tier 5++ cyberware, 2 million eddies, over a thousand of each upgrade component, and a new save I'm not touching so I can reset attributes and play any other playstyle I want without starting over .... all this with 90% or more of the rest of the game UNTOUCHED!!!! This playthrough (for myself) is by far the most fun and best one I've done due to my targeted farming and strategic playing to get to this point. Fun fact: since I've ONLY done Heist (and pre heist) and a handful of NCPD scanners, all those 'one time' areas are still there, enemies on street corners that disappear late game are there, so besides missions/gigs/etc, there are at least 200 extra enemies all throughout the entire map! The screenshot I uploaded, those yellow dots represent what I'm talking about (not EXACT locations, just 'painting a picture'). You know how you do all the gigs for a fixer in an area, and late game much less of those gangs are in those areas? Same with ONE TIME groups.... There are at least 50 missions I haven't even activated yet (esp PL).

So the ask to those likely smarter and more knowledgeable chooms than myself, how confident are you that they will never add NG+??? Or at least not in 2.3.

I don’t see why we can’t have NG+. Just have enemies scale with your character at the start. I’d love to be able to play with my current loadout right at the start of the game.

I'm probably not smarter nor more knowledgeable, but what I know for sure it's the fact CDPR said several times since release they won't add NG+ in Cyberpunk (almost at each update^^), so... I would really hold my breath about NG+ and I'm very confident they won't add NG+ (as much confident as they won't add third person perspective).

I don't know all the details, but when the modding community can figure out new game plus? To me, that shows cdpr just doesn't want to add it to the game for other reasons. It's even more weird when The Witcher 3 has new game plus.

No idea... But I know what they said many times.
If I remember, they said they worked (at least thought) to add NG+ and decided it wouldn't work. But why? don't ask me, no idea ;)

Perhaps you're asking this due to some assets like for instance, the metro initially not being added but later it was? Well, my confidence is that the metro mayhap missed the deadline and NG+ an executive decision.
In addition, for the metro system, they said it wasn't planned, no long after the release, when they had stuff way more important to care about. Let's say at this time, adding new stuff was the least of their concerns :D
While NG+, they confirmed that it won't be added (again), less than like a year ago.

As a console player and one who doesn't have a PC it pisses me off that there is no New Game+ as I cannot mod my save.
I want to replay the game, but I don't want to start from scratch and hit build requirements to open conversations and options.
I played blind in my first playthrough and regret missing out on certain choices.
It seems like to fully enjoy this game is to play with a guide and spoilers the first time through to avoid regrettable choices in-game especially when you are hours in. I kind of hate this, as there are too many points of no return.

I sympathize with you so hard on this. I refuse to use mods so I might as well be on console (personal reasons). And along the lines of making this tutorial, you kinda nailed some of my issues. The game is massive so there are no legit corners that can be cut. I also have to address heavily at certain points a decision has to be made that WILL affect later game things they won't be able to come back to. I mean, unless they didn't mind the targeted farming and don't mind reloading a save from 5/6hrs in instead of brand new start all together. I state out the gate in Part 1 (only part finished atm) that the speed leveling is NOT for 1st time players or really 2nd or 3rd. IMO those should be dedicated to each life path and doing beginning of game story. Otherwise, it's a LOT of dialogue skipping. Story is amazing to me, this IS playthrough 9 for me at 2200/2300hrs in and playthrough 8 I tried this level up fast idea but without strategy (still did gigs and stuff) and took about 56hrs for fully maxed everything. Now I have a strategy and at the 25hr mark (stopping point for others if they want to) everything BUT level itself are max and level is around 40, which turns out you have a LOT of attributes and perks to stop farming and start playing. I continued with it and fully maxed level at about 32/33hr mark. That's 24 hours sooner than last time with no strategy at all and doing missions and such I didn't want to. It's sooooo much more fun having that save point to reset attributes to wtvr I want to try different and be maxed everything and have practically the whole game still to play, essentially 'earned' NG+

I meant to hit reply not quote. Kinda new to this forum, didn't know hitting 'quote' doesn't reply in ^^^ this format. So my response above this is actual reply/quote but without tagging you it seems, sry

I know the desire for an NG+ mechanic has been asked for since the early days of TW3. The team is definitely aware.

What I'm not sure about is if such a mechanic is feasible given balancing the game to the very story-driven and cinematic experiences that the CDPR creates. It might seem like, "What does it matter what gear my character has on them?" on the surface, but that sort of consideration is huge when trying to develop something that evolves with a storyline. For example, if a fully chromed out mercenary with legendary-level gear gets into the car during the first Act of Cyberpunk with Dex...everything that follows seems a little silly.

You still have to leave your weapons in the car and make do with what you find during The Heist. :)
And you can already revisit the starter area in endgame and the enemies don't fall over from a stern look like they do in Expedition 33.
So a level adjustment is already in place.

Yeah they said they want NG+ to make sense story-wise (They even praised starfield's way of handling it) so that's why they haven't implemented it for Cyberpunk. But who knows you can never know with them, they might surprise us with NG+ in 2.3 similar to how they did with the metro in 2.1

Frankly, the only thing I'd want from an NG+ play-through would be skipping the entire beginning and starting after The Heist. I'm not trying to insult anyone, I just think if I'm starting the game with end-game gear and max level there's no feeling of accomplishment for finally replacing that Mk1 Paraline cyberdeck.

I can't see it happening. We're too far along for them to implement a NG+ in the sort of way that they like to do NG+.

However, if you're on PC, you can implement your own version of NG+ at any time with mods. Any equipment you want, any skills you want, any other unlocks you want, et cetera. Takes maybe 5 minutes of configuration. If you're on console, then yes it sucks not having NG+.

NG+ would be a good way to rush through another play through to get another ending.
But I’m satisfied as it is, starting fresh play throughs.

As the bulk of work on the most recent updates has been being handled by an external studio and has concentrated on broadly peripheral aspects of the game, even disregarding the obvious story problems and potential technical issues like eg having cyberware you're not meant to have potentially breaking things (most obviously, jump, though I'm not sure if any quests would be affected) or replication of items you're not meant to obtain until later, I think we can be pretty confident it's not happening at this stage. Reason being that new game plus would require a fundamental overhaul of a lot of disparate elements of the game rather than specific systems. That doesn't feel like the kind of thing you can just farm out to an external developer.
