1. I don't know what kind of 1080 this guy has, how it's configured, or wether or not he overclocked his CPU
2. I only see him using the quality presets, there are several specific settings that affect your FPS
3. My FPS only looks similar when I use the default Ultra preset, which I don't (I even raise one quality setting to Psycho)
4. I'm almost certain this guy hasn't done anything with his game's .ini

Eh, they're very similar tbh. 3700X has the edge though, that's true.

I don't even know what they would say. Really they can only show improvements in streams and explain where they plan to go and hope that works.

Lots of free updates. Then DLC story. Piece Jackie back together and give him new cyber body. Robo Jackie.

Anything they'll say must be a coordinated and unified answer from the company, and probably proof-read by lawyers. There are real lawsuits for example.

But even without - you can usually only go wrong. If they come forward with any half-baked plans now, they gonnaget either ripped apart on Reddit, or they create too much hype etc.

There is a lot at stake now for them, and they have to tread carefully. Just some random devs stepping forward saying "Mea Culpa! Mea Culpa!" won't cut it anyway, apart from some online-ranters getting all wet...

I do not know what you are all doing in this game? I am not a pro gamer or anything but I have spent quite a few hours in this game. more then 60, now I do have a full time job, so that is alot of playtime to me. I still have quite a ways to go I believe in the game, I am in act two, and I am suppose to meet takemura before some Parade thing. But I am trying to level and do side quests first. but I guess my a.d.d maybe gets in the way for me as I go, "oh look porn adds" while i'm watching tv in elevators and S#!T. But yeah bit off topic of the topic sorry.

3. Sure, it's set to ultra, but I switched around a few things myself. Volumetric fog and reflections have the most impact on FPS from what I've seen.
4. Damn, I've tried changing a lot of settings, too many for me to list off the top of my head (most of the things I change tend to worsen FPS). If you're actually interested, there's plenty of resources available online if digging through a game's internals by yourself without a guide isn't your thing. You can even change some settings while in-game if you use something like:

That's pretty much all I've done. Your video did show mostly city gameplay for 1080p ultra settings - Badlands and such are obviously much better - but even in NC your FPS shouldn't be at 40-50 with that hardware.
Agreed. Any official statement they made would just be meaningless PR bull anyway.
Absolutely. Heads down and continuing work on the game is the only move at this point.

Your point is taken in that CDPR has not suffered financially to any "great extent". But keep in mind that those numbers don't account for refunds that haven't been honored yet.

CDPR also didn't sell "ALL" 13 million. They only got full MSRP on copies they sold directly. Copies that went to vendors and digital platforms went out at a reduced margin of profit for CDPR to maintain a consistent price point across all platforms. And if the rumors are true that CDPR was picking up the tab for console refunds, then that's the full price going out for every refunded copy they sold to those vendors. And that's before you even start accounting for the fact that CDPR is now a publicly traded company with shareholders expecting their slice of the profits.

So as a company, to assume that CDPR is "swimming in cash" and that "they'll be okay" after something like this is sheer fantasy. Everything going out from this point forward is profit sapping loss. And that's not going to stop until they can get the game back up on Sony's store so both companies can recover as much as they can of what they've lost.
 
how was it damage control when the game wasn't even released yet? people didn't have the game on their hands yet
they were basically using PR to promote their game and make people buy it

He said hid which implies there were reviews that were hidden .. rather than reviews being prevented which is what I guess he meant.

But yea the whole point of pr is to promote the sale of a product.

No game company makes FULL MSRP on copies only on those sold directly. Not a lot of games sell 13 million copies in the first two weeks. Maybe Rockstar or COD games.

They may not be swimming in cash but they are going to be fine financially. Gamers forget very quickly. Once the game becomes patched, bugs taken out and they add a few free DLCs everyone will be praising CDPR again.
 
It'd be nice for multiple reasons.
1. Obviously the concern most of the industry has due to the massive issues going on. Removed from the store, refunds, lawsuits, etc.
2. The game is still unplayable for old gen consoles, and buggy and glitchy for all of us
3. Most people have beat multiple playthroughs already and have nothing to do.

It'd be nice if they could release some statement of what they're working on, and when they think it'll be done. We can at least assume whatever schedule they had, is probably completely different now. So we literally have no idea what's going on

I was more addressing the point that CDPR has a lot on their plate right now, and that their primary goal is fixes and optimizations for the console markets.

But you have to look at it from the business perspective. With half the universe upset with you, it's probably most wise to just say nothing at all, and just start rolling out fixes and optimizations as quickly as possible without introducing new issues to contend with.
 
Their stock went down 30% (or 40%. I 've been reading conflicting reports). That's what makes or breaks you, no matter how many games you will sell eventually. Why do you think CDPR, Rockstar and other major companies that want to become "huge", spent 3-4 times more on PR and marketing rather than the actual development of the game.

I have no issue with the 60 euros i paid. Game is a mess and broken on every single aspect (still can't digest the fact that half the skill tree does not even work, which is something so basic), but it was fine enough for me to spend 100 hours on it, which totally justify the 60 euros. Also i was fine with the performance. I played on a laptop with a 1060, but after hotfix 1.06 and cyberengine tweaks mod the game run perfectly fine on high settings 1080p.

Can't say the same for people on several parts of the world that 60E consist of 25% of their wage or more (reality, not an exaggeration), who tried to play the game on a PS4, for which they had to save up for a year or more (so even a mid range pc is out of the question), and they got something that is literally unplayable (on that particular rig).

Other than that, i would prefer if they fix performance issues and the most serious bugs and then just ditch the whole project, because the game....... really is not that good. The story could be could good if it wasn't that short, the writing is ....just "fine", most side quests are not up to par compared to The Witcher, gameplay is definitely sub par (melee on FPP.... com' on), RPG elements like leveling and itemization are complete shit, gigs are also extremely repetitive and boring, but most importantly.... The open world is empty and dead. It feels like a giant Counter Strike map occupied by vegan zombies. After you've done the scripted content (which is not much by any means), there is NOTHING to do in this world.

So yeah, ditch it, learn from your mistakes and work on Witcher 4.
 
Share price is down because it was so artifically inflated by many trying to make a quick turnaround and sell on or just after release.

Its rich because those same people selling, likely still higher than their buying cost, are now looking at class actions.

The fact we still call them "investors" is a joke. The stock market is littered with parasites.
 
Seriously? You all act like this is the first time you ever bought a broken game before. There hasn't been a game in the last ten years that didn't release with something completely busted in it. Is that okay? No, but it doesn't change the fact that the industry isn't about good products anymore. It's about passable ones.
First off when you pre-order a game, any game, from any company, the guys at the top see a boost to stock prices, so they take some of that money they already made and poor it into the tank of the hype train. This further increases pre-order sales while simultaneously giving them liberty to screw you if they so choose to. Why? Because the brass sitting on boards, investors and the people running the show don't care about quality, they only care what the quarterly profits show and if they have to press the guys at the bottom to work faster/cheaper/sloppier to do it they will for a fat bonus check and a pat on the back from the investors. Stop pre-ordering, then they have to put a product out that sells after release and not sell the hype.
Cyberpunk 2077 isn't the first time we've experienced this inexcusable level of misdirection and blatant lies from a marketing team, and it wont be the last.
As for the team clamming up, well that is in the best legal interest of the company. Lawsuits have been filed, several more are being investigated, and the smartest thing a company can do to protect it's bottom line is to clam up, keep their heads down and say absolutely nothing that a lawyer didn't tell them was ok to release. They are a company, driven by profit, if they weren't all games would be free.
You want this kind of behavior to stop? THEN STOP PRE-ORDERING GAMES SOMETIMES YEARS BEFORE THEIR RELEASE DATES! Every single person that pre-ordered the game is just to much to blame as the CFO/CEO/Blind Investor that forced crunch on devs, cut content, or ignored memos or direct warnings that systems weren't working or that the game wasn't ready yet.
 
This game is NOT what they promised us. Not sure what the strategy is but like I said before they should bring in Geoff Keighley and have a heart to heart conversation on what went wrong.

I think that as much of an over exaggeration as your opinion about Sony an Microsoft is.

I still think they should kick both companies to the curb and they would be better off both in the saving of dev time , misc production costs and licensing fees if you subtract all that form the $60 retail cost of the last gen consoles the profit margin probably is very little compared to putting that money into the development of the actual game.

I also believe if you added up the amount of unique rants across all areas of social media it would be a small fraction of 13 million. ( no stats or facts just a belief just like yours)
