So what if the conjunction of spheres never ended?

+
No, there were no old space holes; the Conjunction was the only time they could cross freely. Pre or post Conjunction, it requires higher magic. Thus the strong interest in anyone or anything that can cross or enable others to do so.

You know that raises a good question. Just what do you think the conjunction of spheres was like? Space holes, merging landscapes, shit appearing out of nowhere, lots of magical explosions like some trumped up Micheal Bay fantasy movie.

The only thing like it in fiction is the Conjunction of the Million Spheres in Moorcock's multiverse: an event, that occurs once in an eternity, in which travel between the "million spheres" or "fifteen planes" is momentarily possible. At other times, such travel requires powerful magical artifacts.

Real-life multiverse cosmology considers the possibility of collisions between universes. Such collisions are likened to collisions between high-tension wires, only on a scale that releases a Big Bang instead of a shower of sparks. Nobody knows whether any form of multiverse cosmology can ever be proven.
