So who was the 4th witcher assassin?

I can not recall this (probably the biggest plothole in W2) being addressed in EE.

Anyone?
Was it perhaps one of the other two witchers from the school of the viper that Letho mentions? Where they contracted separately by Nilfgaard?
Question, questions. hopefully they will be answered one day.

It was another witcher of the Viper school. It's not really a plothole, the character just didn't have so much importance. I would have liked to see him mentioned by Letho, though.

He appears in the Midinvaerne flashback, with Serrit and Auckes.

"It's a riddle wrapped inside a secret... I can give you any cutthroat in Temeria. Problem is, your assassin came from elsewhere."

The best guesses are that he was a Viper and the fourth companion of Letho, Serrit, and Auckes. But those are just guesses.

The 4th assassin is a major plot hole in the W2.

I don't see how it is a plothole? It doesn't change anything on the story, it's only a detail that we may see a resolution in Witcher 3.

The 4th assassin is probably the one we saw
in TW1 ending

Of course it is the assassin from TW1 outro, but he was mentioned only at the beginning of TW2. He wasn't mention elsewhere, he wasn't in flashbacks and Letho didn't speak about him. It looks devs have forgotten him.

Don't know why the missing backstory for an assassin that died in the first game would be a huge plothole or even really relevant at all but whatever.

I thought it was pretty obvious he was one of the witchers from the Viper school.
