Good to see finally someone making good use of this forum. Social feature is one of the weakest aspect of Gwent, and anybody here hardly ever talks about it. In fact, we all use this forum to socialise about Gwent, instead of within the game.
You know where chat would go to really fast, if opponents are on the road to crankiness already because of a losing streak, right?
That really shouldn't be an issue, since it's a mature game.
If they added a toggle as well, people could opt out.
I think toggle would be an obvious option.
During the match there should be a basic emote system that allows for 1 or 2 emotes per minutes (to avoid spam abuse).
Aren't Avatars that? Also, instead of a time-limit, there should be a toggle/mute option the way it is now. Since spamming can be fun at times.
We've got a Global Map(The Map of Northen Realms, e.g. which divided on sectors. The control under each sector gives different bonuses for clans - orbs, scratches, etc. and points.
For a map, let's choose the Earth/World map instead of the Witcher's. We already have a Leaderboard divided in continents, and a faction challenge. So, for the faction challenges, every player could choose a faction for a month, and then the matches that they win with that faction will add to that faction's total wins, as it is now. But instead, the whole continent, or country (based on how local the data is that CDPR collects) could glow in the colour of the faction who has the most wins there. And every faction would fight to make the whole world glow in their faction's colour. Since Gwent isn't clan-based, this makes sense I guess for the players to participate as a faction, as it is already. In this way, every Gwent player can support their faction locally, for a global win. So, it'll be turf-based somehow, since your wins will only make your region (country or continent) glow. And in the end, every faction player can be awarded based on the %age of world their faction painted in their faction's colour, and the total wins that their faction made. There could be a faction leaderboard or hall of fame or something, where a score of every faction's total and that month's win is kept. And the colour theme of every players' Gwent's interface could be changed to tribute theall-time winner. This will encourage the players to change the all-time winner if they get bored of or don't like that color or theme. And keep the game from saturating, as players will be free to choose a new faction each month. This is how I would've done it.
Although on a casual second thought, Gwent was imagined to be a relaxing bar game without much consequences at all. I think there should be a mode where if you lose, the winner can take any card from your deck. Or you've to give him a card from your collection of a pre-decided type and class (pre-decided for both players). As it was within the game. This will bring some of the lacking thrill to the game, specially for experienced players who have unlocked most, if not all of their collection. Or this could even be made into a general rule.
@IAxiiYourMother Your name gets me every time.
I'd wanna play Gwent with you. Too bad there isn't a Geralt: Axii card for you, yet.
