i'm pretty much at the end of my testing capabilities. CP v2.21 keeps crashing after a few minutes run time, no matter what i do, what i load or where i go. when i say crashing, i mean full on all screens black out, 5 minutes windows restart crash. its not cool.
i've tried it all: 4 different graphics drivers, rolled the game back to v2.13, reinstalled the game clean, load through Steam, load through the game launcher, load from the drive directly, with admin rights and without, graphic settings on low, medium, high, ultra, DLSS/Ray Tracing on or off, cloud save on or off, load an old save, load a really old save, start all new, wi-fi on or off ... nothing matters. the game starts, i load a save and somewhere withing 2 - 20 minutes it just crashes.
i did find, that loading the game with admin rights makes it load smoother and a lot quicker than without ... but that's it for the differences.
EDIT1: i play vanilla, no mods whatsoever. i don't really need any for this game, it's great just as it is.
Systems Specs:
Intel i7 - 8700
32 GB DDR4
Asus RTX 3060 12GB
all games installed on SSD
Hyte Dual Chamber Case, optimal airflow
all my temp sensors report everything nominal. CPU usage gets up there a bit, but its still in the green. i play every other game, no issues, Starfield with 200 mods on high everything without issues for hours at a time (i just had it run for about 60 minutes to test it and no issues).
CP is the only game throwing a tantrum. i've bought the game 2 years ago and played through it twice, over 200 hours play time with the exact hardware i've got right now, no issues. i wanted to start over 3 days ago, deleted my save games and started new and it gives me the crashes. i have since restored the save games and still, i keep getting crashes.
am i alone? does anyone have any advice?
EDIT2:
it seems i've found the culprit, 2 days without crash makes it pretty safe to assume. i must be getting old, until i typed this post i didn't really connect the dots. something in this game must be sucking so much juice through the wires now, that my PSU started to overheat and went into shut down. i found that there were no error reports, no event logs, just niente and nothing made sense ... hence, everything pointed towards a hardware issue first in line and there it is.
