[SOLVED] Lightning Rod Bug!!! Help!!

I have the Enhanced Edition (no patches necessary). I am in chapter 2, trying to complete The Sentry quest. The first time this happened, I died in a fight with the Golem. After I load and attempt the fight agin, the Lightning Rod is gone, although the game acts like I have it. I have gone back several saves and redone quests -- makes no difference. I have scrolled through my Quest items and Inventory and it is not there. The blacksmith will not give me another one, and I cannot trade with the Armorer of the Order. This is so frustrating!!! I really want to continue to play this game... I've seen multiple posts on this problem, here and elsewhere, but no fixes ever posted! Does ANYONE know of a fix or a workaround to this problem?

I've never done any decompressing of files, but my husband is helping me... Do you want the save game where the Lightning Rod is gone? Or the one before that where I have it, maybe to re-create what happened... Or both?

Ok, everything seems to be fine now. I think what's happening is the Lightning Rod is jumping from the very front of my Quest items while I'm in Vizima, to the very back of it in the Swamp. It may not be a bug, but it seems to be an issue more than a few people have. I got some better potions, but haven't attempted the Golem fight, yet. Just tested it out. Thanks again.

That's weird. I've seen some other posts where people are claiming it's missing when they go into the Swamp, but in Inventory while in Vizima. Maybe it's all the same problem. I'm telling you, when I scrolled through Quest items after I died the first time, it was not there. It was probably just user-error. Thanks again, running great now.
