Solved The Witcher "Black Screen System Crashing Problem" I Think....
I have been having a problem with The Witcher crashing to a black screen within about 1 to 10 minutes after entering The Witcher game world. I have the latest whole Q drivers (195.45) from Nvidia for the video card. Here is what has been happening when in game. I am running around on the island and the game will freeze and then the screen goes completly black. I have no use of the mouse or my keyboard..... When this happens all I can do is reboot the system....I also started playing another game called Jade Empire and the same thing was happening in that game too but not as often. I decided to change the level of AA in both games from level 4 to level 2 and my screen rez from 1920x1200 to 1074x768 to see if this would help any........Well, now to my VERY pleasant surprise neither game is crashing as described above anymore...... I just hope this will permanantly fix this problem with The Witcher for me.editI am playing TWEE with the latest patch 1.5.The area the game was the crashing at is the island you get transported to once you kill the professor and leave the spider cave that you have to cause a cave-in to kill all the Boss and all the spiders. Its the area where the Fisher King hut is located in.
