Some small things to patch to make the game much more immersive
I really hope the developers are reading this becuse I have some small things to change that would make the game much more enjoyable for immersive enthusiasts like myself.
What I mainly mean by "immersion enthusiasts" is players like myself who like to minimize HUD clutter and other things as much as possiblet to be as immersed in the world as possible. I really think any game gets much more involved and looks more beutiful the less HUD there is. I really appriciate CD project Red for having so many options for turning off HUD elements. But I also feel it could be done much better and feels a bit "rushed" in that area.
Even though I love to play the game without HUD, I have to fight the game now sometimes when playing this way since there is much very important information that you just can't see anywhere else in any menu. So I often have to switch the HUD back on and then off again. For example one of the more critical ones are the Buff signs that tell you what buffs you have enabled and for how long they will be enabled. If you have this on (and most other things off) the icons for these are placed very badly very far in to the screen blocking your view a bit. They are very important though and it is really annoying you can't see these stats anywhere else.
My suggestion to be able to play without these constantly showing and enjoy the immersion but still be able to see your Buffs and other stuff at a glance would be to patch the game so you could see them when you hold the left bumper to go into the menu weel where you choose your magic abilities (where the game slows down). This would be a great place to place stuff like this! You could just hold the left bumper and see your buff icon lined up as normal, also other information you don't want to be seen always like your inventory quick slots, mission objective, or even the minimap if you have that turned off also could be shown here (I don't like to have the minimap showing all the time since I notice my attention is drawn way to much to the minimap instead of just being immersed in the game world, it is very annoying to have to pause the game to go into the big map screen though every time you want to get your bearing on if you are going the right direction to your destination though etc). So you could just press that button, take a glance at the map or the stat your buffs and then go back to the clean nice Hud-free game. That would really be the best of two worlds and make he game much better for us who like to play without constant HUD clutter but still be able to see important information at a glance!
Another thing I would love to be able to adjust for immersion is all the text above every npc and animal. I just don't see the point of having this immerse beutiful world and you walking around in a tavern in the game and seeing the floating word "CAT" above a cat walking around on the floor. Or there being texts above every npc like "Peasant" etc. It just takes you right out of the immersion and cinematic experience of this being a real world and totally steals your attention for actually looking around in the game world at what you can actually see. It is also totally unnecessary to have the talk prompt showing up and constantly flipping between every uninmportant NPC as you look around since they never have anything interesting to say to you. It could just show up over important NPC:s and shopkeepers etc that you can actually interact with for real. (You could still "talk" to normal NPC:s though by just pressing A as normal close to them, they would just not have the unnecessary prompt and text above their heads all the time)
I just don't get how years are spent trying to create the most immersive world possible and then just "destroy" that immersive cinematic experience by having floating text and markers everywhere. To be able to turn that off (except for important things) would also make the game so much more immersive when you walk around in a crowded city.
