someone mentioned to delete old graphics profile after every patch

I remember reading somewhere in this forum that one should delete old graphics profile after every patch. The post did not elaborate, just was recommending to "delete your old game profiles after the patch if you are having problems with fps" in the poster's own words.

Now, if that is true, then what kind of a patch is it? If it cannot update things itself??

Were they referring to GeForce Experience profile? Or do we actually have to go in native game's profiles and delete something after every patch?

I am curious about this as well, if it's even still needed or not and what files to delete

I have a similar suggestion based on my years in the Navy. Anytime a user adjusts something in the software to fix a bug or three, when a new patch comes out, it is best to return the game or driver settings for the game itself back to default. If you adjusted GeForce, return it to default. Fixes for Witcher crashes in the video settings like unlimited framerate, or v-sync off? Reset them.

After playing again, slowly add any fixes that work. If the same result from last patch, that gives you better feedback for support. Otherwise, you're adding fixes on top of fixes, and that certainly isn't a good place to begin/continue troubleshooting.

Yes, except there IS no way of returning the game settings to default condition. NONE that i know of anyway. There is no button to return settings back to default. So, how do you remember where they were after having to tweak them a 100 times mr. CDPR? I think since they are so good at patch marathons, they may as well include this "restore defaults" button in one of the patches.

Sure is. Go into Options/Video and choose one the presets (Low, Medium, High, Ultra). That is the default graphic setting option, which then reverts to game to whatever the game thinks those settings mean. You know your rig. Which one of those presets fits your machine? Now, if you made a ton of setting changes in your game files (.ini), you could delete that series of folders, validate the game again; you would get the default files again.
