Some thoughts on the interaction between Song and Reed.
We know from the game's storyline that Songbird became involved with the FIA as an agent after agent Solomon Reed “made her an offer she couldn't refuse”, after which she lost her moral compass and continued to sink into both the dark swamp of BlackWall and the dark labyrinths of her soul, doing terrible things, breaking people's lives, and then regretting it bitterly.
One is supposed to believe that the root of everything that happened was Reed, and that So Mi was broken by him and couldn't fight back. I don't really believe in that interpretation of events.
First of all, Song's remorseful scene on the train where she is delirious and remembers how she betrayed Reed on the same train years ago.
But she didn't betray Reed. She saved his life back then.
From Reed's own words at the Moth Bar, a cover-up operation was performed then on the personal orders of President Myers, which not only kept Reed alive, but also got away. This operation was performed by So Mi, who opened the train door to the Arasaka assassins. And this operation was performed flawlessly by her. If she had hesitated for even one second, if she had shed an extra tear, if she had asked Myers again about the necessity of this action, or if her hand had trembled a little, or if the train door had jammed for even a second, the killers would have sensed that something was wrong. And Reed would be dead.
But Reed survived. And this is one of the worst atrocities committed by So Mi, showing her vicious nature.
She'd done everything right.
If she had been broken by Reed, then, on the bench, she would have been left with pain and hatred towards him - and then she would not have had a better opportunity to deal with Reed. Well, sure, she would have gotten an official reprimand, sure, there would probably have been an internal FIA investigation, but I think in the end everything would have gone smoothly for her - she somehow survived the Columbian operation failure in the end (which happened because of her mistakes),right?
No, at the time of the operation to plunge Reed into the illegal level, Reed was not her enemy. He was her coworker and an FIA agent, just like herself. And on that day in Brooklyn, she didn't die, as she tried to convince V in Dogtown - she willingly accepted her own future, she accepted the rules of the game. She thought, “Well OK, they caught me in a crime - why not go with them and see what the FIA is all about? Maybe I would find something interesting for me there.”
She let Reed convince herself. Reed was breaking her, and she was agreeing, keeping her own benefit in mind.
In other words, if it had been someone else in Reed's place - well, Takemura for example - she would have gone to work for Arasaka. With roughly the same results in the end.
P.S. I don't believe So Mi's words that the FIA agents burned down her house - well, how can you burn down an isolated block in Brooklyn? Think about it, the whole block would burn down lol

Hmm. Wouldn't she be a sorcerer in BG2 realm? Just like Jon Irenicus, it's that kind of vibes for tapping in those powers that can crush people in one move.
Extrapolating to other games, I would like Song pitted against GLaDOS. ^^ It would only have been painful for a few milliseconds... for GLaDOS. If not, Song better get good with the portal gun.
