OK for some reason CDPR removed my post about it, but the audio still stutters A LOT while using the headphone jack on a wireless Xbox one controller. Same thing if the controller isn't connected via USB. Only this game that suffers from it.

Latest gamepad firmware and receiver drivers.

I'm not getting any audio from the radios in vehicles. I'm playing on xbox one and have tried reinstalling the game, after checking all the ingame settings, of course. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am also getting the same issue Viernow reported above on Xbox Series X. I get no radio, tv or music sounds regardless of whether I'm using 7.1, 5.1, or stereo sound. I've tried various audio settings on the Xbox, my yamaha receiver, and the game itself - no dice. So I'm assuming this is something CDPR needs to patch.

I'm on PC and and I have the same problem as a lot of people here. Most sound effects are missing, like radio, elevator speakers, doors opening, enemy gunfire, etc. There is also no music in the game. This is when I play with my speakers.

If I use my headphones instead of my speakers, then there is no problem. Also, if I use Voicemeeter Banana (virtual mixing console) and play with my speakers, there is also no problem. This is a very strange bug.

I tried verifying the integrity of the game's files. It actually redownloaded two files, but it didn't help. I also uninstalled my audio drivers and installed newer ones, didn't help.

I was finally able to fix the issue by hard rebooting my console. Perhaps it will work for you as well.

Not sure if it's same issue: NPC around have no sound except dialogs where I can select replies - those are voiced.
No ambient speech around, but when I look at them I see subtitles

sounds were stuttering on default 44100Hz on my audio device, got much better after setting it to 48000, you can set that in yer sound device properties:

Guys, those with the Realtek Audio drivers installed using the analogue "Speakers" output, I found a workaround for this that doesn't involve any third-party virtual driver nonsense. This might also give some direction if you're using the Digital Output or a non-Realtek audio solution. Follow carefully, both steps are important.

Note: "Spatial sound" is "Off" in my case, don't know if it's important but keep it off just in case.

1) Open "Realtek Audio Console" > "Speakers", uncheck "Disable All Sound Effects" (basically, enable sound effects)
2) Go to "Device Manager" > "Sound, video and game controllers" > "Realtek(R) Audio", right-click and then "Disable device", and once it's disabled, right-click again and "Enable device". (basically, restart the audio driver)

* You can disable sound effects again, if you want, just don't restart the driver (or the PC), else it'll just be broken again. Or just keep them enabled for a "permanent solution".

That's it, run the game an enjoy, and let me know if it helped your case.

it seems like no music is being played in game. i can hear the world and people in quests but it seems everyone else is muted. TVs also make no sound

This is the problem I have. TVs are super quiet. I have to be right next to them to hear, which is a problem in some cutscenes. Like the one in the diner with Takemura. Couldn't hear not a single sound, not even super quiet. In the car, the radio is inaudible over the engine. Car horns are... super bizarre. I can't even explain them. But they are not loud and sound like dying animals instead of horns.

Who knows what else I'm missing, but these are the noticable ones. I've tried all kinds of sound options and nothing works.

Come to think of it, the only music I can consciously think of right now is combat music. Other than that? Nothing.

This is on PC, btw.

Have you tried my workaround above? Find the "Disable all audio effects" toggle for your audio output device and untoggle it, then restart the audio driver. That solved it for me after a whole day tinkering with this.

Tried but didn't fix anything. I'm uninstalling and installing it again and probably throw away the last 2.5 hours of game and restart to check if the sounds gonna work or not. Happy my post was able to bring these problems to CDP attention... Too bad it happened and couldn't be fixed easier and faster to not ruin the immersion...

sorry man, its not fair the burden of troubleshooting has been passed on to us consumers. people get paid to do what you just did, thank you for taking the time to help the rest of us with similar issues

please post screenshots, I do not see what you are describing in in realtek audio manager, I only see this option in windows found under "Additional Device Properties"

My experience has generally been to much sound. Music mostly drowns everything out. Everyone has something to say... all at once. To many things play over quest/MC/important dialoge.

I'm not sure how CDPR work the sound into the game, like perhaps spheres of influence? Like as you enter, XYZ starts to play. It seems like perhaps there are way to many overlaps, or these areas are to large.

Ambient sounds are way to cluttered to the point its just noise. Think it all needs refining. Sometimes, less is more.

Just my opinion anyway.

anyone else experiencing this? I haven't been able to fix
when npcs that are 20m+ away from me are reloading it sounds like I am reloading
Post automatically merged: Dec 14, 2020

I will be posting this in the other thread I made specifically about cluttered audio. Part of this was sent in a ticket, however tickers are restricted to only 1000 characters, which is unacceptable.

Audio bleeds together too much. Gunshots sound way too close, and when NPCs reload it sounds like I am the one reloading. Conversations can be heard through walls/vehicles. None of the audio scape is working correctly.
I spent the last 2 hours troubleshooting this. I did nearly every combination of spatial sound and virtual surround enhancement, as well as turning it of, while doing a full restart for every setting change.

z170x 1.1 MOBO Realtek Audio Manager up to date, audio drivers have been restarted
MOBO Bios is up to date
Sennheiser x Massdrop headphones plugged into audio jack on mobo
I have played with spatial sound settings, none make a difference, some of them cause the crackling audio glitch off and on (Dolby Atmos/Windows Sonic)
Sound quality set at 16 bit, 48000 HZ (dvd quality)
in game settings set to headphones
The setting combo of Virtual surround enhancement + Dolby atmos spatial sound fixes the directional problem, but the reloading still sounds too close and gunshot sound vs distance is off
Dolby Atmos Spatial Sound setting with Sound effects disabled in windows settings, and the ingame setting of BOOST LOW or BOOST HIGH seems to place gunshots an appropriate distance away as well as being directionaly correct, but the reloading sound is still way too close.
the disabled sound effect settings paired with spatial sound and in game high/low boost settings fix the directional issue, but the proximity of reloading sounds like i am right on top of npcs
i may not have noticed this or paid attention if these things wouldnt have happened
during the car ride with dex, i could clearly hear npc discussions that were happening outside of the vehicle
gunfire from assaults in progress are clearly audible with the direction of it happening not being clear, when i can't even see the event on the minimap

I use a G633 with the virtual dolby surround sound and it doesn't appear to do much having it on or off. The sound stage should be much bigger but it sounds like everything is right next to my ear. Also, everything behind the player is muted, I am at the boxing ring near player home and if I face the man on the weight machine I hear him but not the big TV the other way, as I turn the audio from the weight machine cuts out and the TV cuts in. The sounds only playing when you are facing them is super immersion breaking and just how the general sound doesn't seem right for dolby surround sound on my headset makes everything sound wrong, never had an issue in any other game i've played. Sounds only playing in your 180 degree direction is a big issue though.

I use the Logitech G933 headset and I am having the exact same issue. I'm beginning to think this may be an issue specifically Logitech Dolby Atmos capable headsets. I remember this was an issue with Assassin's Creed: Origins for a little while before they fixed it.

To reiterate the issue we are having for anyone else reading this: all sound only plays from the forward 3 channels in our headset. Basically any sounds to our right, left, or rear channels do not play at all. It's very discombobulating and it's holding me back from playing this game any further.

it sounds like whatever the issue is its the games fault and not any user settings
im guessing everyone is having this issue to some degree but either not reporting or caring enough to post about it. the overwhelming majority of posts here concern audio cracking which is an easy fix for most people.
many posts about shitty audio mixing though both on here and steam discussions

I found my sound slightly similarly borked.

The volume levels are all out of whack. Pedestrians around me will be deafening (and I mean like insanely loud, even in comparison to music and SFX), while initiated dialogue will be very, very quiet. I can slide the dialogue slider all the way down so that pedestrians dont blow my ears out, but then regular dialogue is basically silent. I fiddled with the sound settings a lot to try and remedy this but nothing in the games settings changed it.

For a while I tried just using window's sound normalization to bring everything to similar levels. It worked for the earsplitting random ped voices, but made all of the music quiet and engines became the new insanely loud thing. Whenever I try to search for cyberpunk sound/volume issues all I get is hundreds of results about people having crackling sound.

I have found the music in the cars to be so low I cannot even hear it. Does anyone have a fix for it? I set up this account just to ask this
