They sold us a broken game. Nothing you can do about it now. Just wait for them to fix the sound... Probably in the next 50 years.

Have the same very quiet NPC, radio, TV etc. sounds.

Have onboard realtek card; after having the issue updated its driver with driver booster, issue persists, tried uninstalling realtek drivers and used default drivers from windows, still no luck. Guess its not driver related. Also the workaround for the other sound issue(crackling sounds) doesn't work for this..

edit: aight, this fixed it for me: https://steamah.com/cyberpunk-2077-how-to-fix-audio-issues/

Note: On step 3 he repeats step 1 by mistake and on the last step he says "go into HeSuvi", so on step 3 install this: https://sourceforge.net/projects/hesuvi/ it will unpack into Equalizer APO's folder automatically.

This guy right here!!! Not only did you fix this issue for my game but apparently a more rampant system issue with my system and my G935's. This solved all of it! Much love bud!

Edit: I have never posted here but to thank this person!

I found my sound slightly similarly borked.

The volume levels are all out of whack. Pedestrians around me will be deafening (and I mean like insanely loud, even in comparison to music and SFX), while initiated dialogue will be very, very quiet. I can slide the dialogue slider all the way down so that pedestrians dont blow my ears out, but then regular dialogue is basically silent. I fiddled with the sound settings a lot to try and remedy this but nothing in the games settings changed it.

For a while I tried just using window's sound normalization to bring everything to similar levels. It worked for the earsplitting random ped voices, but made all of the music quiet and engines became the new insanely loud thing. Whenever I try to search for cyberpunk sound/volume issues all I get is hundreds of results about people having crackling sound.

please read my previous posts, i spent hours troubleshooting it so others don't have to. nothing works, its the games fault. there is nothing you can do
everyone with headphones is having this issue, but they are ignoring it or settling with it. You can try boosting low or high in ingame audio settings. This will partially help but not entirely

Is anyone else having a problem with sounds not matching the timing. Lips and subtitles are going but sound is off by a few seconds. Even gunshots etc, the sound is delayed.

From very start I had audio popping. I am playing on pc and was using my Xbox Wireless Adapter with my Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 headphones. The only way I could resolve it was by using wired headphones plugged into the audio port on my PC.

Currently the radio is not working anymore. I will try some simple things to resolve it and do a little searching too.
I was able to get the radio working again by simply quitting to desktop and restarting the game.

Try looking directly at the NPC who is speaking. The bug is a shotgun mic effect. If you don't know what I mean...

Generally speaking, there are two kinds of microphones. Condenser, and carodid.

A condenser mic picks up all sound in a given range, with things farther away being harder to hear, and things nearby being louder. Condensers are like how human ears work.

A carodid microphone is directional. They pick up sounds that originate in a cone in front of them, and behind them a little bit, but anything off to the side is faint. Imagine a cone coming out from the tip of the microphone, and if the person you are talking to is in that cone, you hear them clearly, but if not, their voice is faint. Sometimes this kind of microphone is called a shotgun mic, because the cone is like the cone that pellets travel in when you shoot a shotgun. A carodid microphone is like a sniper scope for sound. You know the boom mic in movies and TV shows? That's a carodid microphone that they hold over the actors so the actors are in a cone of pickup, so they don't pick up sounds from the studio around them.

The engineers should have programmed sound to be played as if the player is listening through a condenser microphone in the player's head. Instead, they programmed it like a carodid microphone, that seems to be located in the players head, and it points forward. That is why NPCs sound faint when you look away from them, but they sound louder when you look at them, and you can hear NPCs clearly from farther away than you should, but only if you are looking at them.

It's probably just some setting they screwed up in the ini files or something, just like how they screwed up PC memory allocation in memory_pool_budget.csv. (tip: if you are on steam like me, and installed cyberpunk to a steam library folder on the C drive, the path to fix the memory setting is C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077\engine\config\memory_pool_budget.csv).

I've been checking, and modders haven't found a fix for this yet, so it's probably deeper than some setting you can fix in notepad. I don't think it's a driver issue, either. I hope they release a patch to fix it soon.

Seems to be a case of 'random' clips not playing at all - Parts of a gig brief being the most recent

All sound is 'muted' whenever you read something as well :- mains hum due to an earth loop is annoyingly the result (not CDPRs issue but all too common with 'modern' electronics)

i have a sound problem on Pc a constant noise/soundcrackling when if npcs/pc talking /ingame music or other sounds i hear always a crackling noise which is very distracting for me. ive already read about lowering the sound freq for the headset but the bug returns after a short while and stays constant then. this one is pretty gamebreaking for me and ive stopped playing cp2077. i really need a perma fix

Do you mean to say you've lowered the sample rate of your audio device?

Please help!

Had the same issue, no sound at all when starting game. Windows 10. Realtek, all updates installed, newest drivers.

Fixed this by unchecking "Disable all sound effects" in
Setting > sound > Sound control panel (on the right side) > Playback > Speakers (or whatever device you are using) > properties > Enhancements tab > Uncheck "Disable all sound effects"

Did this while the game was running, and later I could toggle the setting again and music still worked?

Sound Issues

OK for some reason CDPR removed my post about it, but the audio still stutters A LOT while using the headphone jack on a wireless Xbox one controller. Same thing if the controller isn't connected via USB. Only this game that suffers from it. Latest gamepad firmware and receiver drivers.
forums.cdprojektred.com forums.cdprojektred.com

Same finding on my side, yeah you can still toggle it on after restarting the driver and still have sound, as long as you don't restart the driver again or restart the PC. But if you keep it unchecked, you'll still have sound after a restart. Very esoteric issue, never seen anything like this before.

I have a realtek onboard sound, when i plug headphones to xbox one controller on PC i get random interference or like small static sound, blips. I am at the part when V has to sleep after the rescue, if i set the news no issue, if i turn the radio then it starts again. X box one controller sound frequency is 2 channels 16 bit 48hz (cant be changed)
Using speakers i have to use 24 bit 96 hz to avoid the issue, plugging headphones to speakers at that frequency allows me to play with no issue but i want to plug them to controller.
It only happens on CP 2077.
Audio driver ver 6.0.9034.1

I have a weird sound issue I can't find anyone else complaining about yet.

My audio completely cuts out in this game constantly. Especially during Johnny sections.
I opened up my volume mixer and I noticed when the sound cuts out the audio literally completely stops coming from CP77, like it's making noise that you can see then it just drops and comes back.
No idea what could be causing this. I'm not seeing anyone complain about this so I'm not finding any kind of troubleshooting I could do. I've done the usual chipset update and stuff but it's persisting.

I've had a variety of bugs with my sound as well. Most prevelant is that after sometimes scanning something, the sound will still play nonstop until you scan something else. This isn't anything major, but it's just another little thing that ruins my immersion everytime it pops up.

Id love to have them separate some of the dialogues from "Music" I put my Music volume low to hear dialogue clearly, only to discover some is tied directly to the Music volume.

For Example during "The Hunt" quest where sitting in the car and shown a news report, the news report while all dialogue is actually controlled via Music.

Makes me think other times where Ive thought the volume was a lot lower than other dialogues that this was happening. If I have Music up at 100% to hear the dialogue thats been placed in "Music" then I dont hear the other dialogue clearly.
