"Spider and the fly" quest on Very Hard is still broken

+
There has been dozens of posts and comment on this quest for years.

CDPR hasn't responded so I can only assume they have no plans to fix it, but it has completely ruined my attempt to play PL three times now.

Every time I do a playthrough on very hard, and then get to this point, can't figure out how to beat it, try probably 30 - 40 times, give up then walk away.

I thought I was just getting bored of the game in general. Only after for the third time getting stopped at this exact mission did I realise it might to do with this. Of course, googling shows dozens of threads commenting with the exact same issue - but only if you have a specific build.

So I'm guessing if I want to play PL, I either completely restart again (for the 4th time) to do a build I don't want to do, or I lower the difficulty to a level that immediately becomes boring the second I finish this quest. 🤔

Would be great if they fixed it, but the truth is this game has multiple choke points like this, where all of a sudden the great game design gets thrown out a window and you are shoved into a tiny room and beaten repeatedly with no alternative until you change your build. Seems like a bizarre design choice to me.

What kind of build do you play? At with level you start Phantom Liberty?
I completed Phantom Liberty several times on very hard and I always managed to beat the Chimera. Not an easy fight, sure, but not impossible.

Yes, with a netrunner/sniper build the rest of the game has been fun on very hard, but the Spider and the Fly stand-off sequence is impossible. Not to mention the hilariously bad "car chase" sequence that comes before, which ends with half a dozen police cars piled up in front of the garage door. Very disappointing.

Edit to add: the solution, for anyone finding this later, is to lower the difficulty for this sequence. If you happen to have the wrong build or try to do the DLC in the sequence where it narratively makes sense (before the parade) then it is not possible to complete. Let's hope future games are more thoroughly thought through.
