It literally lacks "total immortal" ending, V at least becoming legend like no other and not die at all. Bad endings kills replayability. Donno about others but i don't replay games with bad endings. It's like ME3, everybody knows how fucked that ending was and yet CDPR repeat same bullshit. Pllz have really short memories.

You know that modders have to work their asses and made mod that at last fixed ME3 ending bringing serie back to proper standard instead of 3 different colored endings. In cp77 we have 6 different colored endings, all equally shitty. Good Job.

At this point it would be better to start over and let us make a new character for the expansions, cause I don't wanna play as the Engram V.

At this point it no longer matters, cause any of the endings that might tie into expansions already feature the V engram, cause original V was killed by Alt. And the original V from the Arasaka ending is a semi-disabled person who can barely solve a 4 sided Rubik's cube, I doubt they can still go on a mission.

I just went back to the Blackwall scene - that's exactly the point where the game's wheels fall completely off. Alt states that V will be turned into an engram and at this point our only option to progress the story is to go with: "Ok, so we got a plan."

How is killing me and turning me into an engram a fucking plan?

That's the point at which the story can no longer be salvaged and a better ending becomes impossible and where an expansion needs to branch off.

Amazed that you're the only other person I've seen point out that this absolutely should not have been the only dialogue option. It barely makes sense as a possible one.

The thing is u conclude that the engram isn't v anymore, well obviously you still play as v after she is an engram so she still is v, cause v is you. This i think comes down to if you believe a soul exists irl or not. if you don't there is no problem rly, cause then who someone is is just all the data that's contained in a brain, and an engram = all the data of a brain so there is no problem if you look at it from that perspective rly.

I given some though to this, there is lot to unveil in CP, who is alt, net watch, all the overlords behinds the scene. But it doesnt make sense for V to participate in those quest lines due to way game ended, so there is maybe posibility that you gonna get another characters

I don't want to continue as V BEFORE the ending , i think that the way you play after the final quest is not interesting , we should had an end that can help us keep V ! Idk , i've some ideas like change the body we are in , a copy of V in another body ( it worked for Johnny ! ). And how will they work with the dlc's ? everything's we will do in the dlc's will be right before V dies , 0 logic ! V must find a way to save his/her life ASAP ! I really think they must change the way they worked on the endings .. it disappoints us and it makes their (dev's) dlc's harder to deploy ! Idk , i really enjoyed the game and i'll play it again for sure (i did it only once) but this MUST be done !

Plz no that's even worse

Best DLC options I think are a new ending is via a new side faction that unlocks an alternate ending. I'll even take an expansion on our current ones honestly even though they all kinda blow.

Any other DLC is pointless.

Well V could haver just become Total Immortal like Makoto in Gits2, she was existing in cyberspace but could also upload herself into any cybernetic body she wanted. Death of the bodies meant nothing to her and she basically was immortal at that point. That would solve lot of V problems too. Like ending where V sits in afterlife in Gemini FBC body and drinks a drink named after himself

I suspect that many players of CP2077 would likely move on from the brand to another title in the time it would take CDPR to build a meaningful DLC to address the disappointing endings. I for one have no interest in waiting, dangling on the thread of hope that CDPR could or would provide a fitting ending that gives a sense of accomplishment. After all, look how long it took us to get to this point.

That depends how you define life and by my definition it is a corporal existence with a stream of consciousness that is only interrupted by sleep (where your subconsciousness is still active) or if I fall on my head.

If I made a clone of you and then ended your life at the same moment that I activated your clone, would you still consider that to be a continued existence?

It's the same here: Copy, kill Original by wiping the brain, upload copy. Original V is dead, Engram V takes over.

V becoming data is fine. Like Altered Carbon basically immortal being that can switch cyber bodies. That's fine and dandy. Problem is we don't get even 1 good ending at the end of 100h+ journey. You know any motivation i could have for replaying game at that point is gone.

Remember W3? You could have good ending and at the end of B&W when you returned to wineyard, Yen joined Geralt, you got that feeling of fullfilment of job well done. It left lot of positive feelings. CP77 is not, on the contrary it brings back ME3 vibe. The-one-that-shall-not-be-named.

I rather play some sort of version of V than start all over and the game throw away V indefinitely. Much time has already been poured into your current character and their relationships with other characters which was a huge highlight in the game. If there is another character than who can say who we will be able to run into again.

Altered Carbon immortality is not immortality at all. It's copies being uploaded, same here. It's repeatedly stressed in Cyberpunk lore that Soulkiller wipes your mind after making the copy.

It's also nothing like transporting in Star Trek. The Barkley scene was an uninterrupted stream, here in CP we fade to black for a moment after jacking in and entering the pool at Mikoshi. That's the moment when the original V dies and the V engram wakes up in the elevator.

It's also pretty clear when you look at Arasaka's goals. The Mikoshi and Secure your Soul programs were never meant to grant immortality to the super rich. Instead they were used to make engrams of people like elite netrunners and then put them to work, Johnny mentions that at some point.

Agreed, they should just fix damn ending, not even that hard to do. Add one more scene with Engram V waking up in FBC body somewhere in Night City. It could basically be like 20 Sec scene and would solve all problems.

It doesn't wipe anything? it's like a cut/paste on your computer, your person, V gets copy /pasted to another body, or in this case back to the same body.

That's not how it works in the lore. Already posted this a few pages ago:

Developed in a lab on the 120th floor of Arasaka Towers in 2013,the Soulkiller virus is a program capable of creating a digital emulation or copy of a netrunner's mind, utilizing an advanced matrix recorder storing it in a huge database. It then wipes the original personality away, leaving a mindless husk that eventually dies. Few mainframes in the world are capable of running the program, with the only mainframes running it present in Arasaka Towers in Night City, or in Tokyo.
