There is no reason in the game as of now to think that they did.

For me there won’t be any other way if any then through engram “soulless” route. Whole story is about this, this Is why we have Johnny, this is why Alt is so frank about this. This is also why every ending goes with engram way. Even V after surgery in space first thing that says is the (s)he feels empty and later it is advised by Takamura that the Soulkiller “Save Your Soul program” is the best option.

This is possible that we can have retconned version, but this is not how the whole story was envisioned and I doubt that we will see any big changes, since CDPR will play safe with Expansions.

Even if they are evil corporation, they still have some kind of morals since you help Honaka and especially Takemura. I doubt Takemura would just blindly let them do that.

There is no reason for them to do that though, they could kill you and no one would care. If they helped you remove the chip then they did it right. You literally helped Saburo come back to life. You will get punished for taking that option though (your friends will leave you), because Arasaka = bad.

They don't need to tell Takemura the truth. I don't know, it felt weird as hell when I did that ending. But V seem to have most of her memories though.

you play as panam/judy to save V. They could find some other chip to copy V and get it back to body. Like V will survive but she will have some effects. Like vomiting bold etc. For ex that chip could be at Militech or in arisona at some corpo and your job is to steal it and save V. And then finnaly V and Judy/Panam can go their own way. Like it would make sense to fight for evrything to the end. Not like this. But one can only hope

All the seven ends are really dark and sad. Like really. we need a happy ending.

Edit: What do you think of the alternative endings, all of them are sad, and from what I see that people want at least one a happy one, atleast like a Top secret-Easter Egg, at least to achieve it with legendary clothes and level 50, or at least in extreme hard mode. What would be the best idea to fit?
yes you are right all the ending are really dark and theres no such thing as a happy ending, if you choose be you Die no matter what outcome if you choose johnny it sad how he leaves all your friends for him to start a new life, so ya the only ending for me thats not happy but more realistically the best choice is when you choose to suicide and dont have to drag other people to die because of you, yes it one of the saddest ending from the 6 still its the one that is logical

Don't get me wrong, stuff like that would be great! But gotta keep expectations tempered, Just look at launch.

I'm probably already giving myself too much hope that V's story has yet to be concluded!

If in the games best ending is suicide, i'm pretty sure there is a problem with the game tbh

Honestly saying it is. No one dies, if you didnt romance even better no one to cry over your dead body. Its not like there is any point to fight with arisaka or to go with them. You just die. I mean i really got connected to V, Judy, Victor and now I dont know what for. There is a hint of hope at panam ending but again i dont want to hope, i just wanna see CDPR listen and make it right imo

It's funny how act 3 ends in 10 mins if you choose the suicide option. Maybe they should have given us another suicide option earlier in the story when Johnny asks you to "stick some iron in your mouth and pull the trigger". Would have made going through the story less painful.

It wouldn't be if there would be any hint in the game. But there is literally no reason to think.

As I already said earlier - any expansion needs to revisit the Blackwall mission, where AI Alt talks about turning us into an engram and killing the original V by formatting their brain. This is the lowest point of the story, because the game forces us to agree to our own death.

As long as this crucial point in the game is not revisited I will likely not bother playing any expansions. I want to play as the same V that I started the game as and not as a fresh copy of my mind. When your love interest leaves you, in the balcony scene of epilogue (when you pick the Space Heist ending), she says something about you "having changed", to me that's proof that the Engram V who came out of Mikoshi is different from the V who went in.

Further: I already stressed this over the last couple of days, but every ending is such a letdown. Ofc there are other games where the hero dies in the end, like The Dark Wanderer (the original Diablo 1 hero), the protagonist in the RDR series (but at least their death saved other people's lives, depending on their choices), or Shep in ME3, who saved the galaxy.

But here? At the beginning of the story the Corpo and the Nomad have lost everything - in case of the Corpo it's their power/implants/money, the Nomad lost his clan, the StreetKid never had much to lose. The only thing each of them has left at this point is their own life.

At the end of the story even that is ripped away from you, for nothing in return. It's even worse actually, because a lot of good people die during your story. So you either die by suicide, or once you jack into Mikoshi, or 6 months after the botched Arasaka surgery (I don't list the Cyberspace ending here, cause at that point you already are an engram and if AI Alt gets hungry, she might eat you). In all these outcomes you are left with less than what you had at the beginning of the game and you made life worse for many people around you.

So compared to these other games nothing is gained for sacrificing yourself - and this is not a voluntary sacrifice, but a forced one. V says, they wanted to be a "iving legend" (stress *living*), it was never their goal to be the saviour of Night City and bring down all the Corpos and become a martyr. My V just wanted to carve out their own niche, make some money and be a merc of some renown.

What a mess...

Agree. I really hope it will not stay like that but we'll see. I'm not too optimistic but there is a chance.

I think that the fact that after playing with the kids of Joss and makin love with River in his last quest, the next morning you tell him what´s going on and ask him if he still wants you. And his reply to that was again, showing his great character and heart, because he kinda implied that no matter what there is, he wants to be with you. Sadly in the nomad ending though, he wouldn´t go with you because he can´t let his family down. But like I posted a couple minutes ago, I feel like leaving NC makes no sense anyway, because if you do, you´ll just end up returning anyway. Remember streetkid start. "V: Tried my luck in Atlanta. Padre: Didn´t turn out well? V: If it had, I wouldn´t be back, right?" That shows you, that no matter where you go, once you´ve been in NC, you always end up there.

About romance, we had nomad ending where judy and panam leave with us
1 romance for man and 1 romance for " lesbian"
And in the legend ending we stay in city with river or kerry
The same situation.
2 endings for all romances

Takemura is duty-bound to the Arasaka clan, he's a glorified bodyguard. He would never speak out against his masters as long as they don't betray him, like Yorinobu did. You see that in the space station ending when he visits you as bearer of bad news. Not a single word about the unnatural return of Saburo.

Exactly. When I was in Arasaka tower, with Hellman, Hanako and Yorinobu and had a gun in hand, I was wondering why I could not have a last second change of mind and end them all here and there.

He is duty-bound but he is also honorable man, he says so himself. And after saving him from the tower so he doesn't die, i'm pretty sure he would stand up for you or at least let you know if they did something.
