If anything the ending would have been more effective if it had you find the cure but then have to sacrifice yourself to save one of your friends (Judy/Panam/River). Leaving you in space like a dog for choosing Arasaka is not a point that should be made.

Agree, i think expansions will be after main story somehow, or new main character, which i would hate, i want to continue V story.

Edit: Or even worse set in missing 6 months, after meeting Jackie and before heist for biochip.

this situation is worse than Mass Effect 3

They literally destroyed psychologically the replayability

(and they put big limitations for dlcs)

I think a lot of this mirrors my thinking exactly. Choosing to help Arasaka sets them up better than they were at the beginning; the betrayer son is gone, the patriarch is back, and they can get whatever they wanted with the chip out of your head. This should've been the ending where V just...

Only dark and grim ones. Even lets call them happier endings are very shitty when you think about them. I started asking myself was it worth it going through everything. I loved every single moment but those endings... really ruined it for me. Ijust wait and hope for DLC who might fix it...

Why? It’s exactly what any sane person would do, especially Judy/Panam/Kerry/River.
You sold your soul to the devil in order to save your body. The devil in this world is Arasaka. You are they property now (I love how Takamura was explaining that engrams are not humans, you are signing even a contract to do it ). You are part of the very system that all of them are trying to fight, all of them, you will be rewritten in order to fits thei goals.

it’s why this is my favorite one. You start as a jung punk that thinks in Eddies and after meeting a Jackie maybe about becoming a legend tho this doesn’t mean anything to you yet. Once you tried it end up very badly. You did stupid thing and then in order to fix it you are doing far more stupid one.

I mean if this is really the effect they wanted, to create the grimdark dystopia feeling, they achieved it. I feel defeated.

It maybe was a good way for a story you only experience once. They probably should have made it into a movie and not a game then, because a game thrives on its replayablity (ESP. A CHOICE-RPG)

If this was not their intention and they wanted me to replay it later or play through DLC's, they probably should have not shoved me into a Warhammer40k-fanfic.

I've been thinking about it, and if we are talking about post-game dlc, then they don't really need Keanu: even if you give him your body, Johnny talks in V's voice from then on (there is some weird reverb effect but I can't say for sure if it's Keanu's voice or just V's actor's voice with some effects applied). and if you didn't and he yeeted into the cloud with Alt, then obviously no more Johnny and no more Keanu.

even if they for some reason make giving him V's body the one true canon, they don't need Keanu, just some edgy dialogue and sound mixing magic.
I don't that will happen because then we would have a preset character Johnny and not V. We can make V appear as we like, douchy, ignorant or nice etc. But Johnny is already preset as a lying, douchy rocker.

every Dlcs pre-main story and pre-ending would make no sense 'cause we have the "time is running out" factor

so yes the story dlcs should be about the endings or a post story arc who explores Alt and cure for V.

Why add a story before the endings and after the six months with jackie? no fucking zero sense at all

and I'm talking 'bout good writing, they can add everything they but a story arc during act 2 is really silly

They could discard the endings, or make the DLC about a different character entirely. I'm honestly not interested in going through the same story twice, let's find the cure for V: part 2. I really doubt they would go that route either (because it would be against their own words of not "withholding story").

Plus, If we consider that every ending is happening outside of NC, and assume that the DLC would be based around NC then, the DLC would start with "let's ignore what happened in those endings, we are going back to NC", which doesn't make sense.

I already ranted about this in the past. The game actively punishes you for not liking Johnny and trying your best to get rid of him. It plays moral judge at this point and says "No, you picked wrong, here's a shit sandwich as your reward for not being nice to Johnny".

Except for the suicide ending the Arasaka ending is the worst one possible. Hanako breaks her word, because it turns out they could not save you after all. Johnny leaves and depending on your choices one of his parting comments is a sick burn about having betrayed Jackie's last wish ("Hold onto it for me"). Your friends are disappointed about you selling out. And you are a half lobotomized shadow of yourself, who cannot last 2 seconds on a treadmill and suffers from nightmares.

And your only options are to get zapped with Soulkiller, meaning you die and your copy ends up in Mikoshi as Arasaka property. Or you go back to Earth to die within 6 months, already being badly disabled.

Who knows, i am afraid that, after all this s***show, (bad reviews, removing game from PS store, CDPR stock price tanking, maybe class action lawsuit), after fixing the game, they will scrap DLC and expansion plans and abandon the game, which is a real shame, because i really like it apart from short main story and endings.

bruh in every ending there is one outcome (if u survive)

> find cure

this is placeholder for dlc.

If they don't it will be a bad case of "bad writing" and cdpr always gave us good stories

Not only that, most of the game is pretty linear, I dunno how they can sell this as rpg when 99% of the choices don't change anything at all.
After all delays, ps4 bugs etc and the endings, added that the game has little replayability... they will really need to do some crazy dlcs adding some good endings and more story content where the choices really matter otherwise this game will forever be mediocre at best.

Imagine leave it in stand-by the "find a cure" outcome

You should understand guys that this game is not complete. Here in this thread we talk 'bout the endings but the entire game is incomplete:

the main quest is rushed and feels unfinished so a DLC post ending really fit very well
