They would not even have to do much to give us a better ending. Go to Mikoshi, but don't have Soulkiller used on you when you enter. AI Alt uses Mikoshi's processing power to get Johnny out of your head and he goes into cyberspace with Alt. The original V stayed in his body all the time and was not brain wiped.

Ofc the neural damage cut your life expectancy down to 6 months. But that's where the expansions come in.

All it would take are a few changed lines and we would have a much brighter outcome.

Who knows, i am afraid that, after all this s***show, (bad reviews, removing game from PS store, maybe class action lawsuit), after fixing the game, they will scrap DLC and expansion plans and abandon the game.

I think they managed to cover all marketnig and developing cost, so they should be okay for now. I really hope they wont give up

exactly this is a bad design for a roleplay game too

Imagine leave it in stand-by the "find a cure" outcome

You should understand guys that this game is not complete. Here in this thread we talk 'bout the endings but the entire game is incomplete:

the main quest is rushed and feels unfinished so a DLC post ending really fit very well

I really fell like there is missing ending part of the story. We are going to find the cure I have connections in Arisona, and story just stops. Makes no sense to me

I think the story is good enough to excuse a part 2, with that said, content was cut, some content is probably even -almost- done but broken and taken out, I would assume they've removed some of the quests too, sadly..
Many people really loved the story and yet got a bitter-sweet ending that I've seen lots complain about, now, CDPR isn't much one for fan-service but they did that in the past (Blood and wine was 200% fan service to leave a sweet taste to end loose ends after the story).
Basically the TW3 had a good ending but not good enough for some people that felt unaccomplished by it and B&W fixed that, maybe we get the same here.

Also they don't have a limit on DLCs, they could make DLCs with 5 sides each or something or even 1-3 like in TW3 (which would already be great as sidequests are KINDA scarce tbf)

Thank you. I am new here, still have to learn how to use this thing. Does CDPR listen people here? Do you think they will try to make this "right" ?

Only if we can cook up a shitstorm similar to the Mass Effect 3 one.

People are currently so up in arms over the technical issues of the consoles, that many are overlooking how poor the endings actually are. Only 11% have finished the main story so far, according to the GOG achievements. This thread needs to keep growing and gain more attention....then ....maybe.....a tiny chance.

I can only imagine how much materials they have scrapped from the initial release

(including voice acting from keanu)

so ?

-from a writing perspective feels incomplete

-from a roleplaying perpsective feels wrong

all the premises of the game are fucked up

I already ranted about this in the past. The game actively punishes you for not liking Johnny and trying your best to get rid of him. It plays moral judge at this point and says "No, you picked wrong, here's a shit sandwich as your reward for not being nice to Johnny".

Except for the suicide ending the Arasaka ending is the worst one possible. Hanako breaks her word, because it turns out they could not save you after all. Johnny leaves and depending on your choices one of his parting comments is a sick burn about having betrayed Jackie's last wish ("Hold onto it for me"). Your friends are disappointed about you selling out. And you are a half lobotomized shadow of yourself, who cannot last 2 seconds on a treadmill and suffers from nightmares.

And your only options are to get zapped with Soulkiller, meaning you die and your copy ends up in Mikoshi as Arasaka property. Or you go back to Earth to die within 6 months, already being badly disabled.

for me Arasaka ending is actually most fitting the world. By the end of the day V with survival and dealing with Arasaka is as delusional as Jacki with becoming a legend and dealing with Dexter.
You even get the friends warning that this is a terrible idea

Isn't it funny how both Alt and Hanako didn't know that you couldn't be saved? Great writing right here...

Cyberpunk as a genre is depressing, rape, murder, crime, no future, dying world, 1% ruling the 99% over life and death.
It's quite literally grimdark like WH40k at points, there are NEVER real -happy- endings, people fail to understand this.
Now, does this mean there CANNOT be? 'Course not but I don't think they're gonna kill off V simply because they fully KNOW what a good character bond can do, people bought TW3 to continue a bond throughout ages from TW1 to TW3, it's not even about the romance, just the feeling of achievement and acknowledged progression that you get from npcs around you which makes you feel accomplished.

I really liked story, all people in game felt human, okay we need a bit more romancing options, going to bars, gigs, more sex i mean you are in relationship and I am pretty sure not waiting for marriage to have sex, I dont care too much about linearity but that ending...crushed me

this is right but the cyberpunk genre does not implie that almos 98% of the actions in this "roleplaying game" does not matter only 2% of your choices matter and we have seven shitty endings and only 2 outcomes

Ok ? this is a RPG

For me happy ending would break the story but this is rpg where there should be a choice to get one even if it would be challenging.
The only problem I have with endings is that all of them are ending in the same manner in the course of 6 months. Something is just missing.

Since we are very early and everyone is occupied with the technical aspect right now, the best we can do is too keep this thread alive.
It already is the first google result if you search for happy ending for Cyberpunk.

bruh in every ending there is one outcome (if u survive)

this is placeholder for dlc.

If they don't it will be a bad case of "bad writing" and cdpr always gave us good stories

It does not matter in the end, cause in the "better" endings we already have become an engram copy. The only ending with the original V intact is the Arasaka one, and he's badly disabled and has to rely on a neural chip to not be a complete vegetable.

Why would the DLC explore the same idea? In the main game V has 2 weeks to live, you must find a cure. In the DLC V has 6 months to live, you must find a cure. Doesn't seem very imaginative to me...

I'm not excusing the fact that 2% of the dialogues have impact, I'm excusing their finales, which IMO aren't badly written, they're just bad as in that they leave a sour taste, which is normal in this genre.

Feels rushed

I can accept to die but this should be my choice

For exemple:

Dragon age origins you can die in the end as a fucking hero. OK this is a fantasy game but c'mon

the hero's journey is completely fucked up
