As I stated before, that would bee too much work for something this meaningless (sorry), yes it is sad, but everything can't be flowers and sunshine. It's like asking for them to not kill Jackie. It is how it is. Changing ending or extending is another thing, much more impactful for least amount of effort.
I disagree (didn't read your previous statement thou

) : I don't think it would change that much to give a more hopeful fate to Evelyn. Unlike Jackie, her death isn't bringing anything to the plot or emotional connection with V, but is just her commiting suicide after a rescue, which is depressing and pathetic.
CDPR don't need to add a romance or to expand her role, but at least allow her to recover with a short sidequest (ex : Judy allowing you to dive in her brain with an alternative BD and support her using proper dialog choices).
- If you succed with the quest, she survives and stays in bed. Nothing change. Few dialogue required ("thanks V. It wil take time, but blablabla). Maybe she could drop a message during the credits, rewarding the player for saving her (like Takamura!).
- If you fail or don't take the quest until a certain point, she may commit suicide.
Not much code or dialogue required, and this would give player a chance to do something. Like any RPG should do.
And again, it's not wasted efforts. It's fixing a core issue of the game.
It's giving V (and the player) a role in this world, V having an impact instead of being a simple passenger when everybody else is moving the plot.
