you are looking way too deep into it, you literally flip off Saburo, and tell Samsher "Johnny sends his regards" just moments prior. If the writers wanna bring V back they can find 100 ways to do so. But, I won't be looking for an expansion/sequel to do that for me.

Also, no one buys a car, find out it's broken, then wait to buy a new car to fix their old one

V's body dies in 6 months if it has V's engram. But, the engram can potentially live forever in cyberspace.
Post automatically merged: Dec 22, 2020

V is not an established character, hell BioWare killed off commander Shepard in ME3 (way more interesting than V) and had no intention to bring him/her back until the backlash. Like I said earlier, the way they handled V here tells me that we are never going to see that character again. (what exactly has V accomplished? what will V be remembered by? nothing. V is a loser)

They probably have other playable character in mind to be featured in DLC, that's why they made sure that V dies in every ending. Otherwise, if they make an expansion with new characters, everyone will start asking where is V? well now you know that V is dead.

I do not think that V is definetly killed off right now, it's just the endings right now ends up kind of shitty. This is not GTA or some other open world game where nobody gives a flying fuk about MC. Even people who accept the endings we have I do believe they connect with V, it's that they play the game, be done with it and that's it.

Think i figured out what bothers me with the engram stuff. Its a copy of a "soul" but i dont beleve in souls in that way. For example: Johnny talks about beeing locked up and so on.. but if your just data on a chip you shouldent be conciouss when your not sloted into something.. yea i know sci fi but. Same with the tarot cards and so on. Its bullshit irl so i have a hard time accepting it in a game in a sci fi future... Ahhh i feel so much better now

It's a huge debate on engram having a soul or not. From one side "Soulkiller" sounds pretty bad, but on the other hand, Johnny got soulkilled 50 years ago, and he seems to be exactly how he was, nothing is missing. And in 50 years I do believe they upgraded soulkiller to a higher level.

Yea but thats my problem with it. Like if your a copy of someone you might have the memorys and the morals of that person just when it happend. but ppl evolve, they change somewhat and gain more memories and so on. Should make you non evolveble atleast without the whole transfer into the next brain however neural signals can be transfered to a new brain. I just feel like it makes no sense at all. Yea sci fi but it atleast has too feel possible for me i guess. Mass effect fields feels atleast possible for example.

The game at this point is pretty damn stupid when you think about it. V is trying to find a way to remove the chip and survive. Yet in act 2 you are offered so many gigs and side missions that rewards you money to buy what? Guns, clothing, god damn car? For what? If V dies at the end, what is the fkn point on doing all of this.

If I'm trying to find a way to survive, fuk all this money and all this shit, I would just look for a way. It's just me speaking from logical side.

Also, NG+ would be a horrible idea, since they could just ditch any of "V survived/got healed" endings and just let you go to die again but now a bit stronger?

That's why V dying makes the entire game pointless. When we started the game we thought V had a chance to live, that's why we started collecting cars/guns/cloths, made friends etc... Now all of that seems pointless because it's for nothing. Especially now that you know how your friends (Judy with Evelyn) will react if you die.

This is reflected in the Panam ending (now you know death is inevitable), you see V riding into the desert without any goals to pursue, because there is no point in doing anything. Similarly, in the sun ending you see V effectively going on a suicide mission in space, leaving everything behind, because there is no point in playing it safe anymore etc...

Bleh.

That's why we are asking for a better ending, or at least post ending gameplay.

Well it depends on how chip works in my opinion. I think chip puts your engram into the body/brain and then can be removed like, a flash drive putting files from one PC to another. And if you have functional brain with full consciousness, you are technicly a human and able to experience new things and evolve.

I guess 99% of the people in this thread love the game. Perhaps more than the developer does (scnr). They are here because they want the game to become what it was meant to be. For me, that includes endings with a way to continue our taken path in NC .

Post game gameplay if V dies in all endings would be quite horrible, they need to fix them up first.

I mean, we didn't have a problem with Johnny dying because he's just an engram. Well now V is an engram too, so why does it matter if he/she lives or dies? V (like Johnny) is already died.

Can we please talk about the Johnny ending where you let Johnny live with Alt and return as V.

WHY oh WHY does it timeskip and turn you into some head honcho of Night City? WHY? It came out of bloody nowhere. Nowhere were we indicated that such a thing would happen. Why did it change the personality of my character?

I thought it would go like this: Enter Arasaka as Johnny, f**k stuff up, return as V, call Panam and say "hey I did it but I only have 6 months left to live lets move out to the Badlands!"

And instead we get this hamfisted head honcho of night city crap where my relationship is ruined.

It pissed me off so much that I rolled back my save immediately after I saw where it was going and picked the Panam ending. Such a misleading ending omfg.
To get that ending you need a good relationship with Johnny and let him take over your body multiple times. That speeds up the change of your personality that V is not just V, but a hybrid between V and Johnny. That is why some Li's like Judy tells you that V distnced herself from her imo.

It doesnt bother me. the lack of choices up to the end bothers me. And feels very plot device for me. Johnny seems more like a memory to me then a person i guess. Guess i just se it that way since it seems so impossible for me. Liked that with the mass effect feilds since they explaned it with physics ingame pretty much

Hehe yea ofc its made up i meen plot device made up. from what i know about a brain its impossible. You could meby record it but transfer it? the brain isent a harddrive exactly ^^ Guess im just to sceptical on stuff like that. Same with the tarot. i know there accurate ingame since the perosn who made that up knew what was gonna happend. but irl its bullshit so i just rather trust Alt then cards ^^

Even gta characters have accomplished something, what did V accomplish? why would anyone care about a loser character?

If you ask anyone who completed the game about V's achievements, what is the answer going to be? he/she turned Arasaka into gods? he/she gave a terrorist a new life?

Maybe the expansion will be about fixing the mess V made, capture Johnny or fight Arasaka. Those seem like better stories than, let's find a cure to cancer part 2

Problem is I think that all decisions how you want to end up in this game are taken away from you, since they literally just give u 1 way to answer Dex question in his limo? There is no like " erm, no thanks, I wanna live longer and may find some love in life". They push you in the direction of taking that path of glory!! Maybe they were just to lazy, to write different stories, depending on our decisions. Or they knew what most of us would do and decided like "No way, you gotta do, what we want you to"

At that point an answer like "I want to settle down" would not be in character.
You just came to NC/fell down from grace to make Bank with Jackie in a "fuckall" matter.

However after all the shit you witness in act 1 and 2 it would be fine character progression if V just wants a quiet life at this point in the story.

Pointless??? But haven't you heard, the journey is that matters!

You know, the journey where V constantly collapses on the floor coughing, talking to the brain-cancer-rockerboy in her mind and telling him in the most haunting way possible "I don't ... wanna die..." ...

God, I think if they had only a worse voice actress it might not have hit me so hard maybe...

But hey! Great journey to look back at! Minus ... the whole feeling of hopelessness and pain and fear and ... yeah...

I'm almost certain that in the nomad ending, V somehow finds a way to survive. If you pay attention to Misty phone call in the credits, she draws tarot cards and says this
"The Chariot, the Lovers and the Sun. Looks like you've got a good life ahead of you, out in the Badlands"

Yeah, Jen "Femshep" Hale...really loved her. If they ever gonna make a Netflix ME-Series or something (one can dream) they should make Shepard female, to honour her as THE canon Shepard ^^

And now I remember Shepard sitting there on citadel, half dead, talking to Admiral...ugh...getting PTSD now...
