Hehe im thinking they were the underdogs. I dident expect that much from them vs Cp2077. Having the rep that cdpr hade is both a blessing and a curse i guess. Still have it installed atleast so i can play whenever i want ^^ Shame they started adding that *bleeping* Exp booster shit now after all reviews were out. Kinda expected them to but still -.-

CDPR were considered to be on Rockstar's level prior to the release, now they would be happy to settle for a Ubisoft status

Wait, did they actually announce that back then?
Didn't they only tell people when the DLC was released?
I honestly can't recall.

They did, after the flak. Everyone knew there was more DLC coming so the big question was whether or not they planned it like that and they jumped to damage control about how Shepard’s story was DEFINITELY over and not stashed in DLC. They already had the controversy from the Day One DLC so I guess they wanted to get ahead of it.

Does anyone remember the cupcakes? Because that was absolutely the most hilarious thing I read that year, sending BioWare thousands of cupcakes, all the same flavor but with blue/red/green icing.

That’s where ME3 did something right. When they said they had DLC lined up they openly said “This will NOT be taking place after the main game, this is mid game DLC” so people were free to buy or not buy (and I did not, like I won’t be buying any Act 2 or Prologue DLC if CP chooses to release it.) It’s been ages though, so I’m not sure how long it took them to announce it, and it’s the holidays now so obviously CDPR is hanging out.

It’s just unfortunate timing and it leaves everyone here to simmer in the bad feelings and assume the worst. I want to know noooow. :(

looking that we are getting more and more threads about story and how it sucks it looks
Like that more people are finishing the game. And this is even before game is fixed on consoles.
So the pressure will be huge since it’s really a great game, definitely GOTY, yet “some artistic choices” leaves a lot to desire.

Comparing the two right now... I think it's not fair to Ubisoft. CDPR is at EA levels at the moment. :D

So. I just went and started the game up after 8 days. Reloaded the cyberspace stuff. One Alt is quoting a poem - this: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/poems/44212/the-love-song-of-j-alfred-prufrock

Second, I am 99% sure if there is a sequel or continuation, giving Johnny the body wouldnt be considered canon( apart from hiring him again etc.), no matter what you choose for dialog, Johnny always says he wants you to keep the body, and the main objective always remains to go back to your body and crossing into cyberspace is the optional objective.

Anyway, to answer the question in my playthrough on All along the watchtower save, the % are 100% legend, 60% on Johnny ( I know this can go to 70%) and 60% on last called True Freedom, - " Nobody, not Johnny, not Alt could've foreseen what went down in Mikoshi". Definitely not conclusive.

That only happens if they release a new ending option for cash. Want your V to retire without the 6 month death timer? For only 9.99, it can happen.

That would be highly cyberpunk though. Arasaka would absolutely do that...

Well. The latter is actually happeing... Albeit slowly.
But we are talking Disney here. Disney is not interested in a star wars that makes sense or the fans want. They look at their bank accounts and see what star wars performs.

No. Matter how they "sell" an overhaul of the endings. A lot of people would really appreciate it.
I dare say that CDPR is forced to act, if they don't want this desaster to go down in history alongside mass effect 3.

Maybe they bring out a DLC that makes alterations and sell it as their big mind game, cut content, directors cut, continuation of the story...

But they have to do something or they might not sell enough expansions.

Its not happening, that is delusional thinking of some fans that think Dave Filoni hates the sequels or something and has the power to decanonize anything. Almost all in Mando contradicts this...not to mention that if something needed retconning because bad, it should clearly not be the sequels...

Anyway...CD Red ain't Disney. Ain't EA. Indeed they do not have the financial legs to just weather all this. Positive feedback to "V" and good reception could indeed play a role in how the company moves forward.

It is matter of "how to do it if not planned, without "losing face" - personally, I don't really care if they change the endings/expand on them/get rid of their pseudo-intelellectual death-wish-ends and that goes negative with some critics...

Think there are two poems she is citing, depending on the end. I wonder why she does that or what it symbolizes.

There’s also a poem shard near the bed in the Legend ending that I liked, but forgot to write the name down. It was something about fighting to live or to not be like this.

It either hinted at a continued fight or was just more mocking about how V couldn’t save themselves. Either/or at this point lol

Most likely the latter since the game already mocks you through the voice messages at the end, precisely those asking you to "call back"

Dunno.
It is now more than clear that the game was rushed and much content was cut. So, the artistic integrity is just another word for greed and laziness.

ME3 was ME3 and it was BW many stupid choices. For me the game crippled BioWare as whole studio was in a free fall after Me3 was out.
Few years of hiatus. They managed to release a pretty mediocre DA:Inquisition and that was this “That’s all folks”. Anthem and Andromeda were just nails to the coffin.

I mean The Witcher 3 is their only really successful game. Nobody really talks about Witcher 1 and 2. They weren't very successful commercially either. Gog.com hasn't really made any profit in its years of existence. Gwent never really had a chance at becoming more than a niche game especially considering the already big and established competition in that niche. Did I miss anything big here?

And then on the other hand you have companies who have been in the business for many decades and have released countless hits in that time frame. Yeah this was always about to come up sooner or later. Guess most people just didn't expect or hoped CP2077 would be that point. People always have this notion of romanticizing the underdog but the reality is sometimes veterans are veterans for a reason.
